That question is irrelevant to the point unless you actually believe that 6 mil for 4 losses a year wasn't sufficient to keep him around. Unless there's someone chomping at the bit to take him from us, why in the hell would we up his pay? He was overpaid already.

Theres not snowballs chance in hell someone is going to come in and offer him more than we were already paying him. Which means if you feel crootin benefits from a longer term deal in place, you simply extend his contract period at the existing pay rate. If he balks, call his bluff and let him sit. Noone is going to pay him more... except us apparently.
Look at it this way, at least they’re paying SOMEONE like it’s a Top 5 job.

Exactly. Hugely overpaid. He does what most coaches do, beat the teams with less talent at an 85% clip.

One the other hand he sucks at recriiting so bad he makes half the SEC west more talented teams.

Douchebag made Cowbell the 4th best team in the SEC West.

He made UF into the 4th best team in the SEC West also.

Correct. I don't disagree that the leadership at present has become too comfortable with our current performance. But more than that, I think they've become too comfortable asking for, and wasting, other people's money. I don't see it necessarily as a sign that Mullen is here forever, even if there's no significant improvement. They just know the boosters will step up when and if they decide to make a move. They always do. As Douglas pointed out, between Zook, WM and JM, there are many that don't really know much else. We're simply somewhere between the rinse and repeat stages.
This is one of those situations where it seems like the light at the end of the tunnel is attached to a proctoscope with our name on it. All we can do is self-medicate with aged spirits and hope the sedation lasts throughout the procedure.

Mullen’s extension, provided by the school based on a public records request, does not begin until the 2022 season.
Maybe there's a way to fire his mediocre ass this season. Recruiting violations? Shark Humping?

Don't worry. The word is that once the new facilities are up, recruiting will reach new heights along with Gator Football success. After all, Cousin Eddie beat Harbaugh, a man whose salary was just cut in half to show what an accomplishment that was. What's money anyway.

All while giving up the most in the history of our school. Pretty sweet reversal from the Chump era, huh?
