The reason I'm skeptical of this Meyer story is that, at this stage, I doubt either party would allow something disparaging to be leaked. It's not like someone finding out the two are meeting. It would be a pretty big slight to someone you're currently in negotiations with. It would be like Stricklin getting the wrong vibe from Kelly during talks, or being contacted by someone else that he prefers, and letting that out, damaging Kelly as a candidate for other jobs. I just don't see it. Down the road, there may be stories that come out if things go south. But I'd be shocked at this juncture.
Also, has anyone mentioned the fact that, at best, Meyer would be giving his recollection of the facilities from 7 years ago? The IPF and others changes have either been made, or are underway, and I doubt he'd have any knowledge of it.
To me, the story just seems too obvious. It fits the facilities/Meyer-is-the-devil narrative perfectly, as seen by the reaction. I could see a snag in things and remain somewhat skeptical, but I don't think this is it.
