I hope we arent in a position to need to play freshman or even Rfreshmen for a while.

Has anyone heard why Stewart can’t seem to jump Stiner in the line up, he’s clearly a better player.

My guess is he's not doing "everything" the right way. Mullen don't play. You perform on AND off the field or you don't play.

Or at least, if we do, they would be the Trevor Lawrences of the world.
I actually meant to qualify that with interior linemen.... or an DL who isnt up to weight.

You can play freshmen easily at CB, easiest spot on the field (mentally), maybe WR or RB (but they usually screw up blocking) or Rush/DE (bc they only have two jobs, set the edge or blitz).

kids who were ready to play quarterback are super rare or your offense is super simple. kids who are ready to play offensive line don't exist. it just means your offensive line sucks.

Id much rather lose games with atrocious safety play... so we can teach a guy a lesson.

[Edit: that was sarcasm. thought it was evident.]

3-2-1: Florida football observations, questions and a prediction

Here are the highlights if you don't want to read it,

1. Chris Steele is the real deal.

The freshman corner is such a pleasure to watch because each day you seen him grasp something early on, combine it with his natural skill and begin to fine tune it by the end of practice. The result is a freshman who’s taking his lumps adjusting to the college game (he got a nice introduction in the Circle of Life drill) but also stepping up time and again against the Gators best offensive players and finding ways to neutralize them. This is still Marco Wilson’s spot but Steele is going to be huge to have for depth this season.

2. Can Lucas Krull be the dynamic tight end?

Much of 2018 for Krull was spent getting re-acclimated to the game after spending the past few years playing baseball. Now in his second year, he’s using his massive size to lay down huge blocks then his deceptive speed to get around defenders and haul in passes. The Gators haven’t had a true dynamic tight end since Jordan Reed and three days in, Krull is looking like Florida’s best bet in years to fill that void.

3. Who will push Jonathan Greenard on the edge?

The former Cardinal is taking control on the edge and showcasing a wealth of experience that will benefit him in the spot. Andrew Chatfield and Malik Langham have done well during their snaps but with Greenard impressing (not to mention being the primary guy with the 1’s) only three days in, we have to wonder as he grows more comfortable in the defense, if anyone will be able to push him for more time?

Greenard has two years in Choker's defense, already. Right? I think it's the rest of the guys trying to catchup to him.

I like that he is a 265 pound rush/linebacker though. This is more like what Choker has historically played, not these 195-205 lb guys.

The article seems to indicate that Franks is easily winning the QB battle. Hopefully it's because he's continuing to improve in this offense and not because Emory is struggling. It would really be nice to have 2 reliable options at QB again, seems like it has been a lifetime since we could say that.

They are both doing well. JJ might well end up being the best of all but probably redshirts to create some separation. QB, RB, TE and WR groups look to be very good...if not stacked. If our OL gives us anything at all this is going to be a great offense.

Agreed. It always stars with the LOS. If that isn't good on either side, its game over.
