I think it had more to do with the murder of his father than anything else.
You mean the father that was knocked off because Jordan didn't throw Game 6 of the Finals with the Suns like he had agreed to? That was always our theory.
Never heard that one before.
I doubt any of the gambling conspiracies are true, but it is quite odd that Jordan's father happened to be murdered during that particular stretch.
Hmmmm...maybe his propensity for waging $10,000 per hand on blackjack and the roll of the dice at the craps tables Nah, couldn’t be that, the guy truly wanted to schlep around in a bus for 10 hour long rides through BFE just so he could get better at hitting a curve ball.
A writer for the Orange County Register advanced that theory and predicted Michael's retirement in an Aug. 15, 1993 story, seven weeks before Jordan's shocking retirement presser.
I kinda believe them. Why would the most famous person on the planets dad just randomly be killed?
James Jordan was killed at a rest area along a NC highway by two men who were believed to be primarily interested in the theft of his Lexus. One of the men told police the plan was to tie up Jordan but that at the last second one of them spontaneously decided to shoot Jordan. The two dumped Jordan's body in a SC swamp where it was found badly decomposed three weeks later. Was it because MJ failed to comply on court with gamblers? I personally doubt it. Nevertheless, Jordan and his father ran with a questionable crowd for years, the elder Jordan having narrowly escaped jail time over an embezzlement charge in the mid-'80s. I do think it could have been tied to organized gambling, just in a different way. As the Orange County Register wrote, the surest and most vicious way to hurt Michael was through his father. Jordan was his father in many ways. The two had an esp close relationship. The idea that James Jordan may have paid the ultimate price for Michael's sins could have haunted MJ to the point of walking away from the game.
That is very interesting, but with all his money and perhaps Chicago connections if anybody did that to my father, well they would not survive long.
Big puff piece on Tebow from the NY Post on Tebow making huge improvements. Sas will want to avoid reading it. https://nypost.com/2018/06/27/tim-tebow-suddenly-looking-like-a-pro-baseball-player/
I would expect more time at AA this year and AAA next year with a call up possible next year.
Sas when he sees this article:
@InsideTheGators: No, you're not going crazy. Tim Tebow really is an All-Star https://nyp.st/2NaL5kr via @nypostsports
Two former Gators announced on the Orlando team: Orlando roster:Florida defensive back Will HillFlorida defensive tackle Leon Orr
What's next, that turd Del Rio signing up? Hey Luke:
I can't remember if AA is #3 or #4, with Dipshytskel in the other slot for our best QBs of the decade. Brantley is still the King of the Decade (actually #1 and #2 in most yardage in a year) with Treon next. What a ride it has been.
Hugh Freeze to serve as OC for the Arizona AAF team under Rick Neuheisel: Disgraced ex-Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze back in the coaching game… as OC in new pro league After nearly a year and a half away, Hugh Freeze is back — albeit at an entirely different level of football. The Arizona Hotshots, one of the teams in the new Alliance of American Football, a pro league that will begin play in February of next year, announced that Freeze has by hired as the team’s new offensive coordinator. This marks Freeze’s first coaching job since his disgraceful exit from Oxford. Freeze’s new boss with the AAF team is former UCLA, Washington and Colorado head coach Rick Neuheisel. In addition to Freeze’s hiring, the team also announced that former Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti will serve in the same capacity with the Hotshots.
I am selfish but I'd like to see Tim come to UF under Mullen. Assistant to S&C and Responsible for Off Season Training & Issues. Pay him big bucks to keep the players on track. But thats just me
