I received this as well and responded by sending Stricklind the UAA tweet back to him where they described taking $160 million that largely came in for football and spending it on other sports while football languished, only to ask for more. If they could be trusted with the money to this point, perhaps we all wouldn't be reacting so negatively here. I don't mind dollars supporting scholarships and some facilities for other sports. What they did would get business owners thrown in jail for running a Ponzi scheme and now they are asking for more while not even offering season tickets. Fuch off.

Dude should be fired on the spot. Spent $80M on baseball and softball and now has his cup out on the street corner looking to get $50M of it back. Arrogant incompetence at its finest.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see a few sports cut.
Good.

Funny if football doesnt pay the freight, the university, with its $2 billion endowment and 1.9 billion op budget, doesnt have money for gymnastics?

:lmao2:

Its about time the other sports recognize who butters the bread, and who buys the loaf of bread also.

He can eat a GIANT bag of crusty dicks. Weve been paying those fuchsing asswipes 150 million every year for three fuchsing decades.

Fire half you useless motherfuchsers in the ADs office and take the money out of whatever mattress you stuffed all those hundreds of millions in.

I’ve always wondered where one finds an entire bag of d!cks, let alone a giant bag filled with crusty ones. Is that something you pick up at your local Walmart or do you have to Amazon that crap? Asking for a friend

Nice response!

I've posted this before about the baseball park - but why $65 million? They couldn't have scaled it back a bit and built something for $40 million? Or $30 million? It's absurd! I'm inclined to believe they will continue as planned w/ the football facility, but it's still completely irresponsible.

I'm not a booster or season ticket holder, I've been living out of state for over 12 years now. However, my sister has 3 tickets (the cheaper one's in the upper deck). About 5 years ago (maybe a little longer), I asked her to add a ticket for me so that I'd have a seat when I came in town and she could use it when I wasn't there. She contacted the UAA and they said they couldn't do it unless she moved sections and upped her booster contribution, so we didn't add the seat. NOW?? They are begging for season ticket holders. Typical arrogant AF UAA.

We had a similar situation with the seats my grandfather had sat in since the 60’s. He passed in October of 2009, in the middle of an undefeated season, defending a title. It was like landing on Park Place with two hotels and a house on it. Something like $2500 extra per seat(8) to keep them. They truly thought that while all the other dynasties had at some point fallen back, UF was somehow immune. I would’ve been ok with a modest increase. But while the ticket office was sending cards and flowers to my family because he’d been that kind of a long-standing booster and friend to the university, the powers that be were looking for ways to stick it to us and unwilling to budge. Fortunately, I’m very stubborn and found a way around it. My offer, and additional outlay, was once again, “nothing”.

I love UF and don’t mind giving. But when I see it squandered on other sports, programs I don’t really agree with, and excessive salaries for a bloated, short-sighted athletic department, while we fall behind in areas that matter most, I stop.

You know my feelings on bailing them out.

How's that Cornell Business Model working for ya?

Why not increase enrollment = more Alumnus = More Boosters?

Before long they'll be filming "Last Chance U" at UF.

Fuchs doesn't care about Football or Competitive Sports. He can get his money from "Sexy Super Computers" and "Climate Change" research.

Assuming Trump wins, a large part of draining the swamp should be a total revamping of the education system from top to bottom.

I knew this day would come but I had no idea it would come so soon.

I too am thinking back to the times when the UAA strong armed me and others with threats to lose seats or status over the years. In particular I think about how they screwed me when they renovated the O’Dome.
Now while the gatorbait bs is fresh, this is when they expect support?

Maybe Fuchs can start a gofundme so all of the woke nation can help

Why not dump the Dept.of ED? Let the States run that. Give some of the money back to the Parents.

I don't think the states will allow it, again money talks and you give up your rights accepting it.

Slip to Tijuana, I wanna roam
Find Motown and tell them fools to come back home
Start an escort service for all the right reasons
And set up shop at the top of Four Seasons

Sigh. There goes the facilities. Let’s just shut it all down and watch 2006-2008 replays for the rest of our lives.

I know I've said it elsewhere, but those funds were donated explicitly for the sole purpose of football facilities to use it elsewhere would, be in my opinion, akin to fraud because you had people pay money for one purpose and you after getting said money did something else for it (unless I missed some fine print somewhere).
