Seems to me it's becoming more and more common to dispense with the geographical leanings and look at what revenue a prospective school (football program) could bring to the conference.

I still prefer an 8-team playoff over 4 or 12, so I like the idea of it being made up of the four Superconference Champions plus four at-large bids consisting of the next four highest-ranked teams regardless of conference.

So to get to six you're elevating the Great Plains Athletic Conference, featuring powerhouses such as Dakota Wesleyan, Briar Cliff and the College of St. Mary, to a super conference? Now hold on a second there, buddy. I thought you said you don't drink??

There is almost enough Texas Schools and Florida schools to have their own conferences.
