If measuring by wins/losses, I would place “good” season at 3 or less losses. Only 3 of the last 10 would count. But we know championships are important too and none of those seasons qualify. Not even 2009.
We always have fits with UK. Always have and probably always will.
Only in 2009. No one thought Butters was beating Saban.I guess I would say the 3 of those 10 seasons UF won the East would be good seasons PROVIDING UF was competitive in the SEC Championship game.
This.Win the game. The majority of fan bases would take our 3-0 start in a heart beat. Just ask UK.
Finding a way to win these kinds of games helps a team to believe and come together. When I saw
early on how UK was beating us on the lines I thought to myself those big fatazzes cannot do that an
entire game. I knew with Savage we had a chance to beat them in the end. I saw lots of their boys down in the fourth qtr. This UK program is playing better than they have in many decades. We lose our best pass rusher early and still win. We go into the 4th qtr down by two scores and still win. We are on the road in a loud stadium and bring in the 2nd team QB and still win. Somebody coached him up. David Reese stepped up
in the 4th qtr. This team has character and play for each other. Give me all the what ifs you want and
all the bad but at the end of the day we are 3-0. Trask now has 2 home games to get settled in to the
starting roll. He had a GREAT start last night.
As is almost always the case, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I don’t believe you ignore reality and just focus on the 3-0 part. We are a flawed team that has some issues, and those may or may not have become larger last night. That said, I don’t necessarily agree that we were dominated by UK or are staring at a 6 win season. To me, despite Franks’ issues and the lack of run game, it really felt like we were able to move the ball against them and just kept shooting ourselves in the foot and leaving points on the table. I was much more concerned with Grantham’s defense, though it had some big plays late. In general, we were right here at this point last year—which in itself can be cause for concern—and won 10 games. I wouldn’t be shocked to see something similar, especially considering we haven’t dropped one yet.
I think we should be better than we are at this point under Mullen. But I’m not sure we should be better by as much as some here think given where the program was. This is going to take some time and we’ll have more of these ugly wins going forward. If we’re pulling out wins along the way, that’s certainly better than the alternative.
You're extremely reasonable with your assessment and expectations. You don't belong here.As is almost always the case, the truth is somewhere in the middle. How will time change things? Recruiting is the only thing that can change things and I don't see time changing that.As is almost always the case, the truth is somewhere in the middle. so far it's hard to tell.If you had to pick one of the 3 who would it be.
I heard on Twitter we were going to pick up the pace this year.I don’t understand the insistence on playing so slow. Just seems like such a bad way to play unless you’re utterly dominant along the lines.
Must’ve originated from the rumors of good OL perpetuated by pumpers like you.I heard on Twitter we were going to pick up the pace this year.
The last 2 stiffs said the same thing. not calling mullen a stiff, but just saying, every single solitary coach comes here and emphatically states that the gator standard is conference and national crowns. Doesnt mean a dang thing unless you align your staff, your coaching style, and your player personnel in accordance. Unfortunately, his staff is nowhere close to championship caliber, and obviously neither are the player personnel. The roster takes some time, but the staff can be fixed pretty quickly for someone who 1) knows how to do it, not just what to do, and 2) has the freaking cajones to do so. I'm not confident he possess either. We have dead weight just sitting doing nothing and its been there since the beginning. There is zero excuse for guys like English and Knox. Cant recruit to save their lives and both are poor coaches, english absolutely awful. That's two instant opportunities for upgrades, and yet they continue to sit there. Worse, 1 was hired over a guy who is a top 10 recruiter nation wide who continues to eat our lunch all the way from rural pennsylvania. It's fish or cut bait time, that's all there is to it.and by his own admission on several occasions, he views the Gator standard as hoisting trophies. If that includes making additional changes on staff, I think he'll do it
