IF Stricking/Sasse knew right now that Napier wasn't going to work out, they still wouldn't fire him for reasons of optics/admittance of failure, etc. A serious program would.

I was actually stunned when FSU fired Taggart when they did. I didn't think there was a chance in hell, and yet they went ahead and did it. Have to give credit where credit is due there.

But yet that same program kept Norvell after two losing seasons with the discontents calling for his scalp.
If they fired him after the two bad seasons they would be digging out of another hole not on the verge of being in the playoffs.

The difference is the brass there really believed he would turn it around. They didn't feel that way about Taggart.
