I've never run into a Benelli that jams. Perhaps he is using the weird ammo if that is happening. Otherwise, he needs to send it back to Benelli. There are a few springs and such that could break and cause problems, perhaps if he was shooting some super magnum or handload that broke something.

Waterfowl hunting is huge around here. Think about cold, wet, muddy etc. with heavy ammo. That said, a lot of guys buy Benelli during Labor Day sales here that coincide with Dove Season, which is the complete opposite in Hot, dry conditions and light field loads. They usually perform flawlessly in the heat but under cold, wet conditions I have personally witnessed dozens of them fail to cycle. For an auto loader I choose Beretta. But I sleep with an 870 within arms reach.
