I installed it on my tablet and home desktop. Much better than 8.

Haven't gotten the notification that my copy is ready yet. Can't wait to rid my computer of the scourge that is Windows 8.

I don't have it yet. Heard it's a long download. Also heard there's a lot of stuff you need to disable or windows 10 is more intrusive than the NSA.

I'll wait a bit for a bootleg copy to appear on torrents, with the crap already turned off.

I get a free copy through work, waiting until after the first hotfix though.

I'm still using Vista Business and very happy with it.

My son told me there is definitely data transfer back to Microsoft - there's a basic setting and a full setting.
He said you have to pick one or the other and that turning it off is not an option.
But I haven't independently verified that yet.

Ubuntu anyone?
I've installed it on one of my laptops and it's actually pretty damn good.

There's concern with opening up hacking because of its ability to allow anybody to jump on a network without a password. It supposedly hides devices from discovery, but who knows?

How is this going to play out with the Federal government?
Tons and tons of MS desktops/laptops on Win 7 and 8 (even some still yet to be migrated off of Win XP).
Those folks aren't going to like some of these new 'features'.

Haven't tested 10 yet but for those still using 7 or 8...be sure to NOT use 8 on a desktop.

For desktops, use 7.

For mobile devices, use 8 or 8.1

And screw Vista. Windows XP Professional was the best they ever made!

In the case of the company I work for you still need to go through the encryption password (changes every 60 seconds).

I'm not sure what the big deal is with Windows 8. I just downloaded a Windows 7 UI Shell. And it looks like Windows 7 to me. Hell, you can download Millenium Shells if you want.

Can I ask what is driving this statement? I have an idea, but would like more info.

Our IT guy seems to like it. He installed a trial desktop for folks to check it out. I haven't tried it and likely won't. I hate change and I hate Windows for all the changes they make that I have to deal with. I'll go down fighting whether it's worth it or not. Bart and computers don't compute, if you get my drift.
