Fuchsing NEITHER.

The guy has been fired at every job he's ever had except FAU and Ole Miss.
Not true. Kiffin was fired from the Raiders and USC. He was "relieved of his duties" as the OC at Bama but that wasn't a firing really because he had already accepted the head coaching job at Florida Atlantic where he went 27-12 and had a contract that would have kept him there through 2027. Then he landed at his current stint. You can't count the Bama or Tennessee departures as being fired.

LOL "building something". Certainly words that have never applied to Lane Kiffin. One, he's too lazy on the trail to build anything, and two, he will flee to another job the first real chance he gets. He never wanted to be at Ole Miss and still doesn't. He certainly doesn't want the pressure of actually winning anything of substance. He hasn't faced that pressure yet, the Ole Miss fans are perfectly happy just being in a conversation.

Our fans are so beaten down. Because of our situation, suddenly every other coach is a great coach and recruiter that's "building something". It's tough to peruse thoughts from the Gator Nation these days.

Look man. You are a smart guy, mainly because you agree with me 99% of the time, but you keep posting this garbage. Lane Kiffin's reputation, besides the fact he was once a HIGH PROFILE immature jackass, has always been a top notch recruiter. This MFer has OLE MISS in the conversation as a national power.

At Ole Miss.

Go look at his career recruiting rankings, including this season.

Neither have the last 4 stiffs we've had. It's a sad day when Dan f'n Mullen is the winningest coach we've had in a decade and a half.
This thread has nothing to do with the Gators.

Oakland and Bammer.
ah yes, forgot he was in the nfl for a bit. i disagree about bammer. he took a competing job so saban told him to move on rather than have him remain on staff doing sidework for the new school instead of focusing 100% on offense prep for the game. i wouldnt call that a firing. id call that a mutual parting of ways due to a better job opp being accepted.

LOL. Yeah, he took a competing job in the Sunbelt making 300k and year and willingly "left" before the SEC and NCG, missing out on appearance and win bonuses that probably exceeded his whole salary at FAU.

Saban tossed his stupid ass out just like he did Nussdrunk. He just doesnt advertise it.

If this ends how everyone expects it to with BN getting shown the door, it will cost 15-17 million a year to get a proven winner at the p5 level. If Strickland/Foley are still in charge they will still have to spend 10-12 to get the next up and coming gem who just won the southern mountain pacific eastern coastal athletic conference championship with the 105th ranked offense in the FBS as the next coach of the Florida Gators.

Correct. Fooley never grasped the concept of “buy the best and you’ll never be disappointed”. Doesn’t matter if it’s steak at the butcher shop, HVAC systems/installation or college football coaches. You cut corners for the sake of a few bucks and you end up spending more in the long run.

Oakland, with cause... and a great Al Davis press conference.
That is the one positive of Kiffin. He flames out so spectacularly and hilariously that we would surely get one fabulously entertaining firing out of it.

USC shouldn't be the only school that gets to leave his ass on a tarmac.

It's correct that Saban dismissed him before the bowl game but not for the reason you're appearing to point to. Kiffin had already resigned to take the FAU job. He was literally doing FAU recruiting, taking and making phone calls, while on the practice field prepping for Bama's bowl game. Saban being Saban, he quickly decided he'd seen enough of the distraction and sent him packing.

And hence where Kiffin has screwed up the most during his up and down career, grossly miscalculating how to work with others. I suspect he's matured some since the Bama incident but you never know. But the notion floated in this thread that he's just another ticket to nowhere is simply laughable in that it suggests it's an automatic waste of time to hire anyone but Saban, Smart or Swinney. In other words, 99.5% of the rest of the field.
