Treon 2.0?
More like Treon 0.5. Treon with half the talent.

It looks like our recruiting is still scraping the bottom of the barrel, or at best being forced to take reaches and hope they pan out in some way.

I don't understand this bc recruit after recruit talks about Mac being the most likeable HC. His staff is letting him down.

Like Treon, I don't think he is fast enough to play another position. I think he is coming in to play QB. He has a good arm. His height is possibly an issue. Is he 5'11, 6'0' or 6'1? He also plays in one of those god awful spread option systems which means he'll be light years behind a normal QB.

I would understand it a lot more if his 40yd was reported at 4.5 or better, but the only one I could find was 4.69. We already have Jake Allen in this class, I don't see him at QB. If he thinks he is going to play QB, he won't stick in this class.

Nice article on the kid. Not sure what our plan is for him. ESPN has him with a 4.69 40 yd dash and 4*. I think Rivals has him as a 2*. Certainly seems like maybe he's not a camper, since even his height and weight is listed inconsistently.

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/03/does_fast-rising_blount_qb_kad.html

Toney was a first-team AL.com Coastal Alabama selection in 2015 and a second team Class 6A All-State pick. He passed for 3,604 yards and 37 touchdowns and ran for 896 yards and 16 scores for the 10-2 Leopards.

What a big disparity there in the rankings. He must have some good upside or Mac wouldn't be signing him. Mac might have missed on some top Florida recruits but he is a good judge and developer of talent.

From the same link, I doubt his star rises much this year.

Blount must replace a trio of 1,000-yard receivers in Reginald Todd, Antonio Wright and Charles Shepherd, but Toney said he still will have plenty of talent around him.

...

Holly [Football Head Coach] knows Blount's success this season will depend greatly on Toney.
And he's just fine with that.

"I've told him that it all starts with him," Holly said. "He is the guy with all the offers, with the 'X' on his chest. The good think about Kadarius though is that he works hard, he keeps everything in perspective and he is still all about the team.

Superman or target. Will be an interesting year for him.

Yep, he did spread the ball plenty. I still don't see him as a QB with Jake Allen on board

Yes I will because I trust our coach is doing the best for us...

Not that you specifically did that, but I read the same sh*t when Muschamp was the coach. "I trust the coaches" is probably the most stupid thing a person on a message board could post. It's lazy and gives no input whatsoever. Let's just close down the message boards. This kid has a profile on all the recruiting sites, film, etc.Give an assessment, not just "Okay...we got another commitment. He must be great because our coach is so great!" It's lazy... Grow some balls and give an honest assessment other than "I trust the coaches".

Hudl lists his 40 time at 4.45. He doesn't look like a 4.45 guy on tape. In comparison, check Freddie Swain's tape. He's listed as running 4.55 yet he always looks like the fastest guy on the field. Toney never looks like the fastest. He's just shifty. LOL. I kept trying to type shifty but the autocorrect changed it to $hitty. Maybe Apple knows something we don't.

Did you review the film. What is your honest assessment?

IDK anything about the kid. Other than an article that I read which states (1) He is recruited as an athlete and (2) He's a Top 50 prospect from the state of Alabama (33, I think).

Haters. No less an authority than Hudl calls him the "Future Cam Newton." I assume they're referring to his potential as a football player, not some kind of dull-witted academic misconduct, criminal enterprise, or motor vehicle recklessness. In any case, expect this kid to grow, 7 inches, put on 50 lbs. and lower his forty three-tenths of a second.

And you guys need to ignore the recruiting service videos. Like TV, they take three inches and 20 pounds off you. They also make you look like you're running in sugar sand.

Scout's take on Toney:

Evaluation
Toney is a versatile offensive weapon at the prep level. He can be a dynamic dual-threat quarterback in the right system at the next level if he so chooses, or he can be used as a ball carrier, slot receiver or return man at different programs. As a passer, Toney has a strong arm and can improvise despite a lack of height in the pocket. He's most dangerous when he takes off as a runner, with incredible quickness, vision and savvy in traffic that can make defenders look silly at times.

Strengths: anticipation, change of direction, speed, competitiveness, instincts, running ability.

Weaknesses: size, strength.
