Look at T-Rex all grown up and reasonable. I feel like a proud papa.

Reasonable? He compared UF to f$u. If UF "went f$u" with this case, we wouldn't see the initial report (with zero paper trail on the "investigation") for another 6 months.

I'm disappointed in the alleged incident and UF's appointment of a booster. I just think any comparisons to the criminole$ by Gators or outside media is laughably irresponsible.

Of course Insti, all we've got is what is stated as fact in articles ... often in quotation marks.
Seems any deal would require acquiescence from both parties ? Why would she walk out on a deal she accepted?

Again, I'm suspicious that Clune is advising her for the best alignment for a "civil rights" suit against biggest
money-pockets UF. ?? All such founded on a non-criminal (?) charge (?) against Calloway and, for a "rights" suit
to have sticking power, UF must have violated "her" Title IX rules ?

Since Clune indicated that Calloway has info on her prior sexual behavior reputation, so I'm
fully ticked at Calloway for choosing to go-off with her like he did ? Also, for his buddying around
with Treon, who also had a dubious sex-proclivities reputation. When will come that news on
Friday's meeting ? Did her (& her witnesses) attendance rebuke cause a cancellation ?

The hearing took place Friday with out her, her lawyer, her parents, or 5 of her witnesses.

You must not be familiar with T-Rex's work.

Just saw an ESPN update that the DA/Prosecutor contacted UF about the case when they heard about it and said what they are accused of can not be considered Sexual Assault or Sexual Battery...what a joke this has become.

From the article, the State's Attorney said

"I had a conversation with officers at the university to see whether it was going to come this way," said Cervone, who said his office never fully investigated the allegations. "Based on what I knew then, I didn't think there was even a remote possibility of criminal charges. It would have been totally unprosecutable based on the facts given to me. It would have never risen to sexual assault or sexual battery."

I was going to quote you and ask for a link, but I see you provided one, but for some crazy reason it didn't show up in your post...Methinks there's some magic in the works here...

Are we really surprised at any of this? College football has been a game of thugs for decades now, maybe longer. Most of these kids have absolutely no business being students at an institution of higher learning. Until we reject the flawed premise in its entirety, we may as well go along with the game of our thugs are better than your thugs. The notion that there is some invisible line of propriety that we cannot cross is laughable considering how far we (and everybody else) already bends over backwards to make excuses for the very presence of some of these guys. But by all means, keep pretending that its just a bunch of otherwise good dudes out there running around in the O&B for our entertainment and that we have some sort of credibility at stake by allowing one of them to skate away from charges.

I donno Zambo, I actually agree with a great deal of what you said, but I tend to draw the line at rape and murder.

I think we all would draw the line somewhere on this side of rape and murder. My commentary is that even so, the line is in a ridiculous place already. Like, we'll look the other way on the fact that these kids don't even belong in school, but when the thugs actually commit thuggish behavior, THEN we'll express outrage. The whole damn system is a near perfect microcosm of our permissive society where ridiculous behavior is ok all the way up to some perceived line in the sand where we then start expressing moral outrage.

There are some exceptions along the way. Kevin Carter, for example.

Oh man I know there are plenty of good guys on the field. Just look at Tebow for instance. I'm not indicting every guy that puts on the uniform but the system itself. There are way too many guys down there that don't belong in school, but we allow it for the simple reason that we want a good football team. My opinion is that there are enough guys like Emmitt, Tim, Carter, etc to field a team of players that are plenty fun to watch.

This thug thing is the reason coaches do everything in their power to"vet" the recruits by getting as close to them and their families as possible and trying to determine character and past actions. I think they really try to choose the right fit players who they believe will fit their morals and system. Nobody knows really what these 17-19 year old kids are going to do. I am glad this wasnt a rape case.

I know we like to speculate on message boards but we know absolutely nothing at this point. Appointing a UF alum as the hearing officer does not impute automatic bias in my opinion. That is posturing by Clune to be sure.

I know the person that reviewed and compared text messages in the first incident with Treon. He said after he saw the evidence he was absolutely convinced it was consensual. It is premature for any of us to throw either party under the bus until we see the evidence. Bill Cervone's comments are definitely telling however.

The problem is, this wasn't about rape, or assault, or battery. It's about a student's right to feel safe on campus.

WHAT?!?!??!

Please let me refer you to the original post: Woman who accused #Gators FB players of sexual assault boycotts hearing after UF appoints FB booster to adjudicatehttps://es.pn/2arqVOI

It was ABSOLUTELY about ASSAULT.

And according to evidence .... there was none.

I would say most of your roster are good guys, who go to class. Buddy's dad is still a professor and still has a number of football players come through his class at one point in their career or another. Most take classes and their civil commitment to UF seriously. The problem is we only hear about the jackasses.
