Oh I'm sure they've reached out to him. He just probably couldn't hear his cell over the vacuum.
Actually I saw him tonight... on the Green Bay sideline, he's been there for a while now and seems to be doing well.

Yeah it feels like that, right? And those crunchies at Oregon dont know shyt about football and no doubt dont watch SEC. Maybe they will fall for it. I mean hell, the east "champion" coach surely must be good. He ended Gary Pinkel's reign, after all.
I was just thinking it might not be a hard sell to the Oregon fans. A 25th ranked recruiting class looks great in the pac12

With how its all offense out there mostly they would put one tape of UF in recently and drop Mac from any further consideration probably.

Would be pretty unprecedented for a coach to leave a major program to go back to a less than major or minor program. But if this report is true, he should work on having thicker skin next time. Hell, the man worked for Nick Saban, he should have iguana skin by now.

Wait. Don't you guys have blinders on. Mac has gotten his foot in the door of the State of Florida recruiting.
Do you realize, if he became HC out northwest, how much his pipeline of recruiting would hurt UF ? :tard:

I don't give a Rat's A$$ how it would make UF look if Butters wants to and actually does leave. I would be happy to assist Butters in his search for a way out. Bring in a young guy who PAYS ATTENTION TO DETAIL in all aspects of the game. I know most of you all want offense, so here is a thought. Brian Kelly wants out at ND. I am not a fan but his teams score points. Give him the keys to a school with not that high academic standards for football players, let him call Charlie Strong and tell him he can have DC position and let the chips fall where they may!!!!!!

This would be hilarious and sad at the same time. Can you imagine how bad it would make UF look to have a coach leave for another opportunity at a lesser school?
It would reinforce what is often said about Florida

If the head coach of the University of Florida actually reads message boards we're more fcked than we thought.
True, and I doubt he is reading...he has staff, friends, players and recruits which do and funnel the attitude to him.

Blaming the fans is a clear cut sign of a coach in over their head with no answers. This has like next to zero chance of happening though bc what major school would want him? And how much would he owe us if he bolted?

Butters isn't going anywhere, neither is Nuss.

I'm afraid you're right Durty Swamp, Luck never works like that unfortunately. It takes surgery to get rid of this type of cancer. This type never goes into remission. It's a pleasant thought though.

Of course this is sheer speculation at the moment and with less credibility than when ESPN announced last week that Tom Herman was bound for LSU. So while we are speculating.... if Foley were still AD, these rumors would be enough for him to offer Mac a big fat raise and contract extension to keep him here. But Foley is gone (thank goodness) and I think it is quite likely that Scott Stricklin and Mac have had some serious discussions behind tightly closed doors about the team's progress or lack thereof. One thing new AD's like to do is look for opportunity to put their stamp on a program. If things are going well, they can let things ride, but no better place to make their presence known than hiring "their own guy" as football coach. It would not surprise me at all if Mac is "looking for an out" with a little internal nudging going on.

Who knows if this is in case the fact or not. I am just as aggravated with Mac as many of you are. I honestly don't know what would come of it if he left. I would speculate there is a lot that would down spiral to actually get back to where we need to be. So it really could get worse than better. And hell yes it can get worse. There is still more room to fall from where UF currently is. With that said and I were Stricklin I would tell him to Grow TFU, and realize that yes winning SECE championships are great. But your job is to win them in ATL, just not get there. Also I would tell him that if didn't realize fan and support expectations when he was at BAMA (for the love of god all places) he better learn quick. Go sit in the corner, get your pitty party over with, and get to work. If that means cutting some folks go (Nussy) then let them go. Did I mention Nussy?? But in the end I really think this is just all media BS and probably something that was taken wayyyyyy out of context. I know we're all pissed but Striklin has to make a good call here and not just one for the sake of doing it. We would have to make sure a slam dunk, good coach were available. Can't afford a search and settling for 3, 4th choice.

First, I doubt SERIOUSLY that he reads this board and if he does it shows how bad it's getting for him. Second, if he does decide to leave, which wouldn't hurt my feeling in the least, and blames it on the fan noise he should just wait until Bronco Mendenhall leaves UVA and take that job, their fan base could care less. Ask any sports writer, former player or ESPN analyst about this team and I guarantee they will basically say the same things off the air that we are all saying. The defense is the ONLY thing that kept this team in ANY game this year, the offense is abysmal as hell for any number of reasons and the recruiting shows no promise of fixing any of it. As a matter of fact, most of the defense belongs to WM, not Mac and that's drying up quicker than Grannys coochie.

You cannot fix offensive woes until two things happen, better recruiting at O-line and adequate QB play. AA was under fire all freaking night so not sure how many passes he could have hit with better protection.
