I don't think mac likes it here...imho.

I think he likes his guys/players, well most of them. I think he doesn't like the desire (by the fans) to win everything right now.
I think he expects 4-5 years to have a program completely built.
He ain't getting it, the fans aren't going to allow it.
With recruiting like they've shown and terrible offensive production with no real improvement, and perhaps regression, the fans SHOULDN'T allow it!

I think he might get that fourth year if he was killing on the trail. He's not. He's falling further and further behind. He's thinking CSU rebuild and it's not. He was at Bama but like someone said...he was probably very insulated there. That could be a reason why all the Sabanites fail.

What an interesting natural experiment McElwain going to Oregon would be. If McElwain was able to recruit better at Oregon, then we would have real evidence that Foley letting UF's facilities decline were a real recruiting issue. If McElwain struggled to recruit at Oregon, then we would have evidence the facilities arms race does not matter as much as who the coach and recruiter is.

Certainly both McElwain and UF's facilities could be contributing to recruiting problems. So if he were to go to Oregon how the next guy at UF does is information too.

Boosters ain't gonna pony up much cash for facilities until you show you can put a few in the endzone every now and then.

While I don't believe that Mac will be the next Oregon coach, I however was sniffing around on their board earlier for fun and one poster noted how the Oregon plane was in Atlanta yesterday or today and they are freaking out over the possibility of it being Mac. LOL even they don't want him. It certainly is crazy season. :)

It's a possibility. I do see him being a great fit at Houston. It's just funny how all of us Gators want Mac gone, and Oregon is scared to death to get him. Shows you the perception of Mac, and it isn't good. Im sure recruits pick up on this.
