Why are we falling all over ourselves about a guy that Texas doesn't want?

:what:

Turk!!!! Welcome back!

To be fair, most teams dont want any of our linemen.

So that we have enough lineman to practice in case we want to sit someone in practice. Maybe?

Big guy. But when's the last time we had a really successful OL transfer?

Max Garcia was solid. Wenger too. Most fail, no doubt. The same is true of any transfer, really. Or any Juco. And yet, we need OL, DTs and inside LB desperately bc of previous recruiting failures. We have no other choice.

Max garcia. He was one of the few not blocking his own teamates.

Yeah. This is a good pickup. But one I wish we didn't need.

That link to the Texas board seems to explain it best. He'd rather play sooner than later, if possible. If they're gonna redshirt him, he'd rather be here sitting because the opportunity seems better for him. It probably is.

Hard to say why he's leaving. Maybe he saw his competition and bailed, or maybe he was promised something that failed to occur. So while I'm happy we basically added a big body to last year's class, I'm cautiously optimistic about his motives. Just hoping he has a positive impact for us.

Maybe he was recruited under Strong, and didn't like the change in staff.

Any time there's a coaching change some good players can't adjust for what ever reason. Maybe he will pan out here with a new venue and a fresh start.

Tyler Moore was another recent transfer who started.

I'm suspicious....If he were a really good lineman he could have moved over one state and played for LSU, Arky, as they're both in the SEC too....

I thought we were looking for examples of success.

Regardless, if a transfer comes into our program (or any program) and earns a starting position I'd call that a success. It means he was better than what we had on the current roster, so even if he played like sh*t......that sh*t was better than the even worse sh*t that was sitting behind him. So yes, even though he was not all-SEC, he was a starter who prevented us from having to play the kid he beat out. I mean WTF do you want? A 1st Team AP All-American? Yeah, I want a 12 inch c*ck w/ a super model's mouth wrapped around it...but wish in one hand and sh*t in the other....

I'll gladly take such an overall (tall & heavy) big lineman. Who's to know that our coaches &/or his side-side-teammates won't arouse this guy to learn his job better. From that he could develop into a valued team member that helps us win. Look & see, our S & C program can't put weight on anybody, so getting one already heavy is a need.
