So much for the hype....

Mayweather just played with him for 6 rounds then put the hammer down. It was never a fair fight.
We watched a different fight I guess. You can say he toyed with him all you want but Donor brought the fight to him until he gassed.

I can't stand either of these guys. Too much trash talking. But they entertained me.

Floyd looked like a 40 year old. Conor surprisingly didn't show much power and isn't built for a 12 rd boxing match.

That said....Floyd had a brilliant tactical plan. He barely threw a single punch the first 2 rounds and not much more in round 3. But after that Floyd controlled the fight and was the much harder puncher. But if he was a real puncher this would have been over earlier.

Floyd wanted to give the fans their money's worth and he did. Overall a good fight by both sides......surprised me.

Are you watching the big fight tonight? Did you buy it or are you going somewhere to watch it? I could care less so I will either find out on here live tonight, on ESPN, Facebook, or just look it up tomorrow.
The bottom line for me is one is a scumbag and the other is a douchebag so I wasn't into the fight because I don't like either. Their International publicity tour and press conferences were disgusting McGregor was sometimes racist calling Mayweather boy dance for me boy and a reference to a monkey but it helps sell the fight which is disgusting in its own right. Can you imagine if president Trump ever spoke like that he may be considered racist.

I considered the fight a rip off even though it turned out to be a fairly competitive fight Floyd Mayweather looks absolutely done but he leaves prop getting a couple hundred million dollars which is repulsive in its own right. McGregor may have gotten a hundred million dollars for this fight.

I had heard there were thousands of tickets left for this fight I hope that is still the case and that the pay-per-view buys were down less than expected. Besides my not liking either of these two fighters I wanted the boxer to win just because it would have been a death blow to boxing if Mayweather had lost to a novice he's someone who's only a good MMA fighter nothing great.

These fights are on way too late for most people in the East Coast.

Honestly I have tried for years to like Dana White but I just can't it there's something creepy about him.

I hope aggregor goes back to MMA and starts losing like he lost in the first round of the year and a half ago to Nate Diaz and I hope Floyd meddle Mayweather hangs up the gloves or better yet fights Triple G Gennady Golovkin at some point and loses. ;) yes I would root for a Russian over an American no problem.

Sounds like it was the joke fight people expected.

Not at all. It was entertaining and competitive. Floyd was just better. Clearly so.

As much as I dislike these two....both were very civil and gracious post-fight.

Although there were some unsold seats my understanding is they broke the live gate and ppv buys records. Both made a ****-ton of money. I'm glad because I think this fight brought a lot of attention to the fight game. Should help revive boxing and brings more mainstream attention to MMA. Good for both.

I was shocked McGregor could hang. McGregor was gassed. That's really all their is to it. Floyd mayweather is trash and would have lost to a cage fighter had he been in better shape.

Not imo. Nothing effective was landing from McGregor and then it became a borefest like most Mayweather fights.

At 40 any top rated fighter should beat Floyd. His best days are years behind him. Conor was gassed. Early. That's a big part of the fight game and nearly always leads to disaster.

But there is almost no scenario where Conor could beat Floyd in a boxing ring. I predicted Floyd would win in a decision but gave Conor a punchers chance to take him out. By The start of round 4 it was evident that Conor wasn't the power puncher many thought. He couldn't put punches together although his jab was effective early.

Floyds strategy, conditioning, composure and ring generalship was superior and he was the harder puncher to boot.

If they went to the Octogon...Conor in 1 or 2 rounds and in dominating fashion.

Now Floyd needs to go away and Conor needs to go back to UFC.

If they went to the octagon, Floyd would be done within 60 seconds.

Sounds like they pretty much followed the script. Macgregor was allowed to hang around in the fight long enough to earn respect from all the people that were saying it was a joke fight and he'd get killed, and Mayweather takes longer to finish the guy than most predicted, but still wins in convincing fashion. Don't be fooled, if Mayweather wanted to end this thing in the first round or two, he could've easily. Sounds like boxing robbed millions of people again of their $100 dollars. I'll give these two credit though, they took a joke of a fight and built it into one of the most watched boxing matches ever, and they'll both come away with a ton of $$$$.

I thought it was odd that mayweather turned his back to McGregor a few times and the ref stepped in and made them break.

Why didn't the action continue? It happened a few times in the 1st few rounds. I've never seen a boxer turn around like that, it was weird.

Boxing didn't rob anybody...free will and all. Nobody is forced to watch...I don't care about any type of fighting and have exactly $0 in my life. If people don't like the price or the fights don't buy it and it will quickly go away...capitalism is great like that

You could see Conor getting gassed by the 4th round and his power went out the window with every passing minute of the fight. I am a little shocked that he didn't try and throw more uppercuts when Floyd was coming at him with his head down but his corner kept telling him to grab Mayweather....Not a bad strategy but that also eliminated Conors reach advantage.

If I ever have to box someone, please have my corner man remind me every round that as soon as I get hit I need to turn my back on the opponent and turtle up until he backs away.
Haha, wow, 10% increase in dislikes after this post. Some people are butt hurt I guess over an observation of a ridiculous fight.

I laugh at the cost perspective. I saved money staying in and watching the fight. All my other options would have cost me more...dinner, movie and drinks would have cost me more than the fight, wings and beer. Had some friends over and had a great night. I pay to be entertained. I was entertained.
