And if you actually look at the verbiage – he never says that they haven’t discussed FIRING him. They said they have not discussed anything with either him or his agent about a buyout.

They also didn’t say that he is the coach of the team and will be for the rest of the year. They just said let’s focus on the Georgia game.

Yep that statement is not supportive at all. Mac is probably gone after the Georgia game.

This all make sense to me now. Mac is gone and he and Sexton know it. They probably also know if they fire him for his actions since Monday he likely walks with nothing. Sexton starts leaking about working with UF on a buyout so maybe UF comes to him and tries to make a deal with Mac resigning getting some money instead of fired with none. UF says we aren't talking to anyone about a buyout, but doesn't mention whether or not they are talking about him being gone. Pretty sure this means Mac is gone soon, and may get nothing when he goes..

I don’t like Kelly. He’s a known cheater and comes off as a jerk to me.

If Mac is to go, I’d rather see a short list that starts with Frost.

I have serious questions about Frost’s decision making. Despite being warned by Tom Osborn to stay away from Lawrence Phillips’ ex-girlfriend, Frost hooked up with her and had to hide in his apartment bathroom as Phillips tried to kill him. Frost is lucky to be alive. Is he going to let some fine G-ville tail get in the way of smart, program focused decisions???

All kidding aside (although the Phillips story above is true), one knock on Frost is he’s in only his 2nd year as a HC. Taking over a major program in your 3rd year is quite a jump. Urban did it for in year 5 as a HC. I think Frost is doing a very good job at UCF and he may reach great heights at a major program, possibly starting in a few months but I thought I’d throw this out there for discussion even if it may be viewed as a small nitpick or not an issue at all by others.

I am not a Kelly guy either, but I understand how it turns people on, especially those who care only about offense. I too do not think Kelly is an overall big picture guy and it showed when he tried the NFL, just like Spurrier. I want a guy who understands how all phases work together, cares about discipline, fundamentals, and attention to detail. Kelly is not that type, but anyone other than Butters is okay with me

So you are OK with say me as HBC, I am not Mac. Bet not, but I am too literal as usual. Post padding.

This might be MOM but I read a rumor that boosters got a letter to start accumulating money to buy him out. You can search for details if needed.

Administration obviously monitors Gatorchatter

Where there’s a smoke there’s fire.

This cannot all be BS. Even if it is...Mac is done at UF. He cannot survive all this. It seems evident that he has lost support and so far NOBODY from UF has denied anything. You would think Stricklin would at least “tweet” something that would calm this down a bit.

He is just not the right fit culturally. I think Mac has realized it and wants out. Folks. We are playing Georiga this weekend, and this fool creates this drama! Who does that? Proof that he is not a fit a Florida.

I really hoped he would work out so we wouldn’t go through the coaching carousel, but this is a square peg, round hole thing now.

Why would Strickland say anything other than this before the game lol

To me, it has to be Kelly if all the rest of this is true. If it was Frost or the like I'd think you wait til the season was over to make the move. Kelly is the only one on the radar that could take the job right now.

:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

But IT ISN'T a vote of confidence. They didn't even bother. They just said we are focusing on Ugly.

Can't be any more obvious than that.

My God would be lucky to land Kelly. I'd drive to the airport in my Tercel and give him a ride to the hotel.
Pick me up. I'm going to get a Uhaul and take it to Butters' place. Need a ride.

I am quite confident that you would be a much better HBC than Butters, so yes. But I must say that you are not my first choice from this board. Only if Law turns down the job should you then be offered.:lmao2:

Those discussions and discussions with the next coach always go through intermediaries. "Would your coach come to FL for X mil x Y years?" etc. Once a deal is struck in principal and only then do they actual meet and agree.

It just goes to show you that you never know what might happen. We were on Butters early on for his horrendous coaching skills and as luck would have it, he gets a little ruffled b/c he says we are not appreciative. So we say Go EFF yourself and try and do a better job and he gets even worse. So he seals his own fate sooner than he had to, and us fans who knows he SUX Donkey (sorry Law) balls as a coach will be the winners as will the entire Gator nation!!!!!!!

One thing we know for sure is when the administration makes a statement like this
they know the situation is desperate. This statement speaks volumes. It was probably for the players more than anything else. The lazy boy is making a lot of peoples’ lives miserable. I’ll be shocked if we don’t hear good news shortly.

The way this is going down you can't keep him on, it has to be immediate and it has nothing to do with who is coming next.

I hope come noon Monday, we’ll be glad Foley is gone. We can’t afford any more of his bad decisions. I hope and pray we like his replacement.
