I don't think there's any question. Naming Fulmer AD was the most embarrassing, desperate move I have ever seen at a major program. What coach is going to want to play for him knowing that not only will he be looking over his shoulder but that he certainly won't be AD for long?
I still think there's a chance Fulmer names himself HC. Maybe Tee Martin as HCIW. But it is a dumpster fire of a situation, but great for us.

Ox, I kind of see it as a "it was Barzini all along" moment. I think Fulmer is poor man's Little Finger. I absolutely believe the reports that he's been sabotaging this from the very beginning. What's amazing is that it was so successful that he had had the Vol faithful literally pleading for him, the coach they had run off, to come back and save them. It has dawned on a few of them what has just happened, but the yammering of the frustrated majority have drowned them out. Someone is going to write one hell of doctoral dissertation on the psychological factors at play here.

I have been thinking recently that all the other AD's in the country have to be looking at that situation and thinking "we can't ever let that happen to us". I have no doubt policies and procedures are going to be quietly changed around the country due to that mess.

That's pretty much Fulmer. He's a backstabber and these lunatics have forgotten all the bytching they did we he was still the HC. This is a match made in hell and you bet AD's around the country are going to be shoring up policies to prevent that from happening. They can refer to it as the VolTard Policy.

At LSU Les Miles benefited from being the only big time school in the recruit rich state of Louisiana. He wouldn't have that at UT and would flounder. Bring him on Fulmer!

It would almost make up for the horrible year if Tennersee offered Miles and he turned them down.

Philopottamus meets Grassopottamus?

... glad we got rid of our zentillating floppopotamus.

In these times of HC hiring helter-skelter, Fulmer could compile & comport a better team than all those brick-years of Jones. Fulmer is Tennessee's Spurrier, so if he wants to be AD he'll run it well. In retirement he ran a business and was a business consultant = CEO know how. If he and Miles have no grievances then UT could come out smelling like a rose. Anyway, I'd like to see those 2 not wasting away.

Fulmer has already proven he cannot produce an effective offense without an elite coordinator (Cutcliffe).

I seem to remember people wanting us to just pay a lot of money to get the coach we want, now that it is UT, a large amount of money won't do it?

I suspect some lower level coach or OC will eventually take the UT job, once they admit that is the best that they can obtain at this time. Only time will tell.

Fulmer's probably a good choice for AD, but yeah it's a bit ironic that they're begging him to come back after running him out.

Any coach has got to be nuts to want that job after this debacle - maybe Less Miles is the right guy for the job after all.

Les Miles is a good coach and if he finds himself a great OC and lets him run the O side of things, he can do well any place he goes. As a Gator, I know I dreaded having to play against him. Some of the surprise plays he pulled out of his hat still give me nightmares.

Les Miles could never stockpile the insane amount of talent he had at LSU at UT. Never.

If you liked Nuss' offense, you'll love Miles'. Drives LSU fans nuts. His main claim to fame is stockpiling talent. No one will ever confuse Miles with being a teacher of the game. Tennessee fans will have to become content with grinding out 17-14 wins against Vanderbilt if they want Miles.

You think he can do that at UT?

I think he'll continue to do as he does, recruit big, strong, fast athletes who can get after the ball and quarterbacks who don't have an effing clue.

Fulmer backstabbed his way to the HC gig, and now the AD gig. It will be funny as hell to watch Les tell them no.
