I think LSU is a prime example to show that's just not gonna cut it. LSU has had classes that range from #2- #12 since Saban took over at Bama yet they've only beat them twice . Saban has had a top 5 class every year since 2009. If UGA keeps recruiting the way they are and we recruit like your saying then were in major major trouble. In order to keep up we have to recruit mostly top 5 classes it's that simple. Bama and UGA are gonna get theirs that seems pretty clear so we have to keep up or we will fall to far behind. I think that's already the case but a top 5 class would help.
Sure, it's going to be hard to beat a team that has 30-40 more blue-chips than you do....and the one's they do have are ranked in the top 100, 200 while most your ours are ranked 200-400.
LSU has had some sh*tty and questionable coaching over the last 8-10 years. Miles went through several OC's and hasn't had a servicable QB in years (much like UF's problems: bad coaching and bad QB play).
I agree w/ you though. It's an uphill battle right now. As I said before, the stench is still fresh on the UF "brand" and it might take a couple of years for Mullen to right the ship.
