We totally agree on the second part. I'm not saying that as necessarily a knock on Mullen, either. I love Danny Wuerffel, but I don't think he would have lit it up in the Nebraska offense of the same era. I don't think Tommy Frazier would have been great in the Fun n' Gun. That doesn't mean they weren't both perfect for the coach's system they were playing in.

Since the first part is speculation all we can go on is what he's doing now. Franks is clearly not a guy built for what Mullen wants to do - but he's got more tools right now than EJ. I think you can make an analogy for that situation and the TH/WG situation. Personally I never thought the mobility difference between Treon and Will was as great as the announcers liked to make it out to be - and Will was a FAR better passer and he was at least willing to run. That's why I think he would start WG and work hard on getting whatever guy he had brought in ready to take over. I do think he would have gone out and gotten someone who was a better fit for his system in his first class even with WG here. I guess you can say that's what Butters did with LDR - but he wasn't exactly the blue chip that EJ was.

I've found that the "No one but Mullen" crowd isn't actually wanting to hear any names. Every name offered, they reject because it isn't "realistic" or--my personal favorite--"no SEC experience" (as if Mullen's losing record in the conference is some sort of accomplishment we measure others up to).

Money talks in this business--and Florida has tons of it. I get it that Saban isn't coming; nor was Dabo...but a TON of other coaches would have considered it, IF the offer was right. Enough to make them leave? No one knows.

Something else no one know? Whether Mullen is up to the job or not based upon one game vs a FCS school. No one questions his ability to beat teams we should be beating. Mullen's real test will come against ranked opposition.

You're memory that isn't verifiable and a quote that is not a fact, it is subjective. The actual film of the game, box score, and drive summaries are all facts they are all verifiable and pieces of information in an objective reality. I'm not interpreting schit, you are.
