I believe CJ Spiller had buyers remorse a year after but by then it was too late...Hard for these teenagers and all the pressures that are put upon them by "Grown up" men and women. They really need genuine unbiased guidance at this point in their lives. So sad...

Grew up most in Lake Butler for a while and have a lot of family still there. Many of them followed CJ while at UCHS. Rumor was he was all for UF but got upset that UF would not offer a team mate of his and the player did not seem worthy of an offer. Not sure after that if the buddy got the offer from Climpson but that's where CJ went. My Aunt also worked with his Mom. Never really said that publicly, but seemed to fit the situation.

Like the way that list is looking. Just need a small addition, say perhaps, 4/5* DL or two.

They mentioned that two people who did not attend FNL were likely out of the class. Im assuming those Gammage and Williams.

Remember qhen the pumpers used to say our staff was the best in the world at finding the diamond in the rough 3 stars? Yeah I remember.

I think Chase, Dunlap, and Pitts will be adjusted much higher.

This is an article from SBNation where they interview IMG football players and ask them where they think their teammates will end up signing. I did not include the whole article, just the parts that impact the Gators in some way.

https://www.sbnation.com/college-fo...ben-unije-img-houston-griffith-daniel-faalele

BRADENTON, Fla. — IMG Academy is the most talented high school team in the country. A private boarding school where almost half of its roster will sign Division I scholarships, there are prospects everywhere you turn.

Wednesday was media day at the academy. I chatted with over 20 recruits about their college choices and games.

But kids get bored of talking about themselves. So I asked them about their teammates and set up a scorecard.
IMG has six seniors who have Power 5 offers, yet are uncommitted.

It was interesting to see what a recruit said, juxtaposed next to what his teammates think will happen.

Daniel Faalele, four-star OL
Faalele is the 6’8, 390-pound Australian import whose only experience in a game is his spring game. He’s rapidly improving as a player, and it’s fun to see someone so talented, yet so raw be molded into a star.

What he said: “No interviews,” he responded when asked several questions.

What his teammates said: Ten picked Michigan, while three picked Georgia. All of the Georgia picks were hedges accompanied by a pick of Michigan.

Rueben Unije, four-star OL
The 6’5, 300-pound Unije doesn’t seem all that close to making a decision.

What he said: Unije dropped a top seven on Tuesday consisting of Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon, Ole Miss, UCLA, and South Carolina.

What his teammates said: Unije’s name was routinely met with a laugh, an “I have no idea,” or an “ummm.” But still, a consensus quickly formed. Nine votes went to Oklahoma, while four went to Florida.

“Big Rube’s going to Oklahoma with me,” OU commit T.J. Pledger said.

Committed stars flipping?

Brendan Radley-Hiles, four-star DB (Nebraska commit)
What he said: The last time Radley-Hiles was at Nebraska was for Friday Night Lights, in late June. He says he is “100 percent” committed to Nebraska, and is openly recruiting others to the school.

But other schools are still after him.

“Florida came the hardest, Louisville the second, and UCLA the third,” he said.

I asked Radley-Hiles, who had been goofing around and putting on hats like Florida and UCLA earlier during a photo shoot, if there was a school with a legitimate shot to flip him.

“A shot to flip me? I don’t think so,” Radley-Hiles said. “If you really want me to say one, I guess I could say ... nah, there really isn’t one,” he said, not wanting to create fake drama.

What his teammates said: Most did not feel he would flip anywhere, but T.K. Chimedza said Radley-Hiles was a potential flip candidate to Florida or UCLA.

Brian Hightower, four-star WR (Miami commit)
Hightower said that he is solidly committed to Miami, but that he is still being pursued by Nebraska, Georgia, and UCLA, and that he is not sure if he will take official visits other than Miami. Hightower plans to be an early enrollee. Unije said he thinks Hightower will end up signing with Florida.

Nolan Smith, five-star DL (Georgia commit, ‘19)
Smith is an incredible edge rusher, and is only entering his junior season. His burst and bend are special, and he’s getting stronger.

What he said: Smith denied there was any chance he’d go anywhere but Georgia.

“I could flip, though,” Smith said, jokingly. “Back flip, run and flip, front flip. That’s the only type of flip I’ll be doing.”

What his teammates said: Something completely different. They laughed at the idea that he was solidly committed to the Bulldogs. Smith was mentioned more often as the candidate most likely to flip than all other players combined. And the predicted destination? Clemson.

I know he didn't play American football while growing up in Australia, but I still don't want to see Daniel Faalele end up at Georgia. He is still a teenager and he measures 6'8" and weighs 390. He's a beast.

Number 54 is Taron Vincent a 6'3" 290 pound DT. Faalele is obviously in the middle. Number 2 is T.J. Pledger a 5'8" 190 pound RB.

An article from Rivals. They think we will be able to sign a full class of 25 players this recruiting cycle. I did not realize how much Sabanizing Mac has been doing. Since last August, 11 players have "chosen" to leave the program.

https://florida.rivals.com/news/unofficial-scholarship-breakdown-pre-fall-camp-update

Unofficial Scholarship Breakdown: Pre-Fall Camp Update

With fall training camp fast approaching - and a number of offseason moves having been made over the past two months - we're in a position to update our Unofficial Scholarship Breakdown.

Here is a look at the updated version:

The movement since the May update:

--Added Notre Dame graduate transfer quarterback Malik Zaire. Zaire joined the program in June.

--Removed junior linebacker/tight end Camrin Knight, who will transfer to Georgia State after two seasons with the Gators.

--Removed Clemson offensive tackle transfer Jake Fruhmorgen. After spending not even a week with the team, Fruhmorgen opted to leave the program. However, he apparently did not attend any classes during his few days in Gainesville.

--Removed junior defensive back Chris Williamson, who announced he is transferring.

What this means as far as this fall:

--Florida should have roughly 82 scholarship players entering the fall, currently three under the NCAA maximum 85-man scholarship limit. The Gators should have room to award a few scholarships to deserving walk-ons during fall training camp - with redshirt senior Cristian Garcia being a name that immediately comes to mind, given his increased role late last year despite his walk-on status and the important part he played as a first-stringer during spring practices.

--Are the four walk-ons who were awarded scholarships, partly because there was room available at that time, going to keep them? They aren't required to be renewed. Therefore, any movement there could potentially make available 1-to-4 more slots

What this means for 2018:

After a fruitful week of recruiting, which saw the Gators add commitments from five-star quarterback Matt Corral, four-star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, four-star tight end Kyle Pitts, four-star offensive lineman Curtis Dunlap, three-star wideout Tyquan Thornton, three-star tight end/defensive end Dante Lang and three-star safety Randy Russell to the 2018 class, Florida currently has 14 members committed in that group.

With how the roster currently stands, after Florida's 12 seniors graduate following this upcoming season, it would have 70 scholarships filled - giving the Gators room to add 15 more scholarship players to the roster. However, that doesn't consider Zaire, Marcell Harris and/or Antonio Riles potentially pursuing NCAA waivers that would grant a sixth season of eligibility - if that's the route each opts to choose after 2017.

Regardless, the natural, annual attrition should come through once again this offseason. It’s worth noting that since the start of last August to this point in the 2017 offseason, 11 players who were on scholarship have left the team (without departing for the draft) for various reasons: Thomas Holley, Andrew Ivie, Matt Rolin, Jordan Cronkrite, Cameron Dillard, C.J. Worton, Brandon Sandifer, Justus Reed, Knight, Fruhmorgen and Chris Williamson.

Before that, multiple players transferred or left the team following and during McElwain's first year at the helm for a variety of reasons. It happens each and every year.

After the 2016 season, five Gators declared early for the NFL Draft: Alex Anzalone, Caleb Brantley, David Sharpe, Teez Tabor and Quincy Wilson. There are a number of names that'll be worth watching after the 2017 campaign as far as potentially turning pro early, including Antonio Callaway, Martez Ivey, Jordan Scarlett, Eddy Pineiro and possibly some others, depending on how the year goes.

With all of the following in mind, it wouldn't be too surprising to see Florida be able to have enough available spots to take a full class of 25 - or at least a number not far from it - for 2018 once it's all said and done.
