I said when the initial verdict came in that life in prison, in this case, was probably worse than the death penalty. While he wanted so badly to play the part of the hardened gangster that was made for prison life, he was actually nothing more than a spoiled millennial who got swept up in glamorizing a lifestyle, without any thought of being held accountable for his actions. He was raised in a middle class home, treated like royalty in HS and college, and then got glimpse of the finest things in life as an NFL star. So this was never a case of a guy whose life on the streets was just as miserable as the joint. To voluntarily throw away Egyptian cotton for government issued prison rags, 5 star food for slop, not to mention the realization that in your mid-to-late 20's you were probably never going to have sex again, would probably push me over the edge as well. The fact that at his age, he was probably staring at 50+ years of regretting a lifestyle that was completely self inflicted and chosen, sealed the deal.
Sucks for the fiancé, but she also chose to ignore the obvious signs of who she was getting involved with. The only real victim is the child who had no say in the matter. Wish the best for her. Hopefully she's too young to remember much.
Other than Greg Reid in that famous youtube of the '09 fsu game, I don't see anyone actually "missing" him.
