Why the hell is chiozza even playing? It's so hard to win with small guards. He'll always be a liability defending the 3. When we play hill and chiozza we're a liability on both ends. God I can't wait till this year ends. I've never seen a softer collection of division one players. Nobody wanted the damn ball those last two possessions. I'll never understand how chiozza made it to this level if you're going to be 5'6" you have to be special like that Moody kid for ole piss. I expect some transfers this off season just like last time when we went to the nit. I also don't think we'll have a winning record. Words can't describe how pissed I am.
For the record, Chiozza is 6'0". Kasey Hill is 6'1". Not much difference. The problem is neither one can shoot worth a crap. Chiozza plays because Hill is a turnover machine. Billy's damned either way.

I don't think we're that talented. Next year we'll have middling talent and experience. The freshmen and transfers better absolute studs cuz this team is NOT very talented. Zero NBA talent. None.

Its hard to believe Hill and Walker have turned out this way so far. If they were barely meeting minimum expectations we would probably be a Sweet 16 level type team.

Completely agree. I think someone posted on here that when you miss on a kid or two in basketball it is far worse than missing on some kids in football. We will have down years but it shouldn't be like this. Muschamp infected the whole athletic dept.

Relax people. We will be back to form by next year.

We have a lot of talent, but it's all really young. Throw in some solid freshmen coming in, Egunu and Francis, and a healthy Devon Walker and we are a totally different team. I expect a lot of growth between Robinson (super talented) and Chiozza also.

In Billy I trust.

This team is horrilbe and it's Billy's fault. Don't get me wrong... I love Billy... I think he is one of the best in the business, but he has put together a collection of kids who he can't seem to reach.

That last offensive posession before the shot was horrible. Nobody wanted to do anything.

I think there is potential. I like Chiozza and Robinson and we have talent coming in. Hill and Walker are the biggest 5* busts I have seen. Billy recruited them both and honestly... there are plenty of 4* start guys better than both of them.

We have no elite talent at all on this team. Nobody who can break down an opponent and be creative. I have no doubt Billy will get it fixed... just not this year.

Overall... that is OK... even the great ones have down years and this is a down one for Billy D... I'll take his total body of work over anybody else in the country every day.

Not really. A year like this just makes me appreciate the rest.
I'm with you on that. I sure appreciate the past success. I'm just concerned about the present and near future. I don't have the confidence that next year is going to look all that promising. We know Horford is gone and I expect Chris Walker and DFS are gone as well. If Frazier projects as a second rounder he will probably bolt. Casey Hill has 2 yrs left so could be looking at a transfer. Hopefully Robinson isn't thinking an early exit or transfer. There's only a handful of these guys we can be sure will be back next year, and most of them haven't been productive at all so it could easily be another "rebuilding year" (translates as crappy year with a bunch of turnover at the end of it).

Of course they also could all return and develop a lot after taking the hard knocks of this year. Only time will tell.

Nobody really knows what the players will do I suspect the following:

Chris Walker might leave but his loss would not be that great, he makes way too many mistakes in the few minutes that he currently gets.

The rest will probably be back and we have some new talent coming. I see improvement already but not enough yet. Time will tell.

Losing Walker=Addition by subtraction
I'm hoping the same guy that advised Mary Tyler Moore on his draft status will get in Walker's ear.

Seriously? He's the absolute worst defensive player on the team. A liability if you ask me. He's constantly out of position, doesn't communicate when he decides to leave his assignment and is generally lost. At this point, I don't know if he's capable of being coached to play at this level. He's an athletic freak, but has the BB IQ of my sister.

Yes, seriously, He needs a lot of work. Only way he is going to get better is with a lot of coaching and playing time.

Learning defense happens in practice...not games.

It's not about "NBA Talent". Name the guys who got drafted off of last year's Final Four team, I'll wait....

Even still i disagree. Frazier can easily make a roster as a 3 pt specialist, and Robinson will be NBA caliber before he leaves.

Then there is Egbunu who by could be very good also. Next year will be VERY different

This has been a year beyond grating. At the least it was expected UF to be in March Madness.

There has been no real leadership on this team. The 2 Mc DAA's are wholefully overrated, just like that company's stock of late.

There is no chemistry at all as a team.

Frazier, Carter and Hill have regressed. Walker has no clue.

Chiozza is no where near 6 foot. He's about as close to 6 foot as Irving walker. We're 12-12 for a reason. We have some serious holes in our roster. A sub 6 foot guard who doesn't have a jumper makes us alot easier to guard and it makes us vulnerable defending the 3. Just because he's not ridiculously turn over prone doesn't mean he's good enough to play at this level. I can't think of any team in our conference that I've seen play that he'd get minutes for.

Like I said in a prior post, we should have expected trouble once Billy D decided that a non-athletic walk-on deserved decent minutes. Our season is not Kurtz's fault, but it speaks volumes about the talent/passion of our other players when he is in at game's end.

Having small guards has hurt us in these close games. Players get pretty clean looks at the end of games. So our perimeter defense is pretty suspect. And we go on these big scoring droughts because we don't have a big man to throw it down to. It's very hard to win close games with those problems. Not to mention we only have one shooter you have to respect. I give Billy all the props in the world, his coaching keeps us in these games. He has a good game plan for everybody, he just has possibly the least talented team he's had here.

Good coaching on defense maybe but on offense we have done nothing. Donovan is a great coach but even he wouldn't try to claim he has done a good job coaching them or game planning this season. Taking people out at the end of close games who were just finally making some shots also made me scratch my head a few times this season.

Someone said Walker is the first ever consensus top 10 player out of high school to be averaging less than 5 points a game in their sophomore season.
