I'm sure they didn't OFFER Rumph. Like with every position, I'm sure people called many people to inquire who may or may not even be interested. I suspect there were probably dozens if not a few hundred calls made.

Agree, that's usually how these things are done - they put out "feelers". But the Clemson hack/writer implied "there's no way Clemson wanted Rumph".

It would be nice to - at least - get some speculation/rumors about our job search....such as this:

Michigan: Indiana co-offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Greg Frey is in the mix to join the Michigan staff and is expected to interview, according to Scout.com. Frey previously worked at Michigan from 2007-10.

He will be hired IF NOTHING ELSE because Suckeyes just hired Indiana's old HC to be their new OC so Frey will know most of the playbook and tendencies.

Michigan is the first college team to have three $1 million assistants.

Offensive coordinator Tim Drevno and defensive coordinator Don Brown each received raises to $1 million (before bonuses), and new passing game coordinator Pep Hamilton will also make $1 million, becoming the first non-offensive/defensive coordinator in college football to hit the mark.

Monte Kiffin was the first $1 million assistant back in 2009. This year, Drevno/Brown/Hamilton will make $3.65 million. That alone would have ranked 21st among assistant salary pools.

These contracts were made public one day after Michigan announced a trip to Rome. And Jim Harbaugh makes $9 million annually when you include his life insurance policy. If you haven’t noticed yet, Michigan has a lot of money.

Locksley still doesn't know what he'll be doing at Alabama:

Nick Saban hasn’t yet determined what role Mike Locksley will have after his promotion to full-time assistant.

Locksley replaced Mario Cristobal, who coached the offensive line, but tight ends / tackles coach Brent Key also has line experience. Locksley has coached nearly every position group in his career, on both sides, except for offensive line.

“When we get all the changes we're going to make on the staff worked out, we'll make an announcement about who's going to coach what or where,” Saban said.

Asked if there could be more changes, Saban said, "I never know what other guys are going to do. I'm happy with the staff that we have. They've done a really good job for us, and we were pleased with Mario and the job he did for us, and Mike Locksley is a great addition to our staff, so we're pleased with the people that we have. But you never know what their goals and aspirations are when recruiting's over."

Harbaugh is going to ram rod us.

A LOT of old money. Oakland county at one point was one of the top five wealthiest counties in the US for income. A lot of those people have retired or moved(but still UM grads obviously).

Fleck's buyout would be $4+ million after next season:

Minnesota: P.J. Fleck’s contract at Minnesota is a 5-year deal worth about $3.5 million annually. If Minnesota dismisses him, the buyout in the first two years is $3.5 million, it’s $2.5 million in the third and $1.5 million in the final two. Fleck’s buyout if he leaves is the sum of the base salary for the remainder of the contract. His base salary is $1 million, increasing by $50,000 each year.

Vanderbilt: The school is working on a contract extension for Derek Mason. Mason is 13-24 in three years, but went 6-7 with a bowl appearance and win over Tennessee last year.

Bruce Feldman on if Dabo Swinney would take the Alabama job one day: “I think he would consider it, it’s his alma mater, but I don’t think he would take it. First, he has certainly made Clemson a destination program now. And I’m not sure you want to be the guy to replace Nick Saban. Why leave an elite program for another elite program when you have everything set up the way you want? I’m sure a lot of guys would jump at that chance. I don’t think Dabo Swinney needs to.”

Wow
@BruceFeldmanCFB: SOURCE: #Alabama WR coach Billy Napier expected to become new #ASU offensive coordinator http://www.foxsports.com/college-fo...asu-offensive-coordinator-chip-lindsey-012817 via @FoxSports

Total BS that we couldn't make this happen. Mac/Foley/Stricklin are total b!tches. You lose Locksley. Keep Nuss and Bammer loses their number two recruiter to ASU? This is why we suck out loud. Mac is incompetent. Foley is watching women's lacrosse and Stricklin is Foley's puppet.

I look forward to another triple digit offense and Mac getting guillotined.
