I'm alive, fairly healthy, have a loving family and good friends, plenty of food and drinks in the fridge, have an interesting job that pays well and I'm a Florida Gator!
I'm not ate up with negative thoughts like many on this board because I've learned that opportunities are always available and with opportunity comes challenges. Maybe we will be terrible next year or maybe we will be good.... At this point no one really knows which way the cards will fall. I choose to hope for the best, that's just a better place for me to be than wallowing in negative thoughts.
Some of you will read this and have a knee jerk reaction that I'm defending Mac or think everything is wonderful but that's not the case.... I see many opportunities for improvement and hope that the Football God's will favor my Gators in 2017.
In my opinion football is a game of inches and missed opportunity, it's not all about stock piling 4 and 5 star players (unbeatable Bama did lose) but rather a lucky break, a tipped ball, a missed tackle or missed block or maybe an unexpected big play.... We have been so weak in so many areas that it wouldn't take much to win 1 or 2 more games in the past two years. Maybe we will get or make some of those good things next year. I know that some will disagree but I really believe if Grier wouldn't have been suspended, we would have won 2/3 more games in 2015/2016 but probably still would have lost to Bama, or not....... who knows.
All I know for sure is that our guys played hard (most of the time) and we had plenty of missed opportunities. Maybe, just maybe we will finally find a QB who can see the field and deliver the ball on time.... please, please Football Gods!
I'm still proud of my Gator Heritage and look forward to the Glory of Winning it all again. In the mean time, stay thirsty my friends.....
