He's a saint because he put a sawbuck in the Salvation Army's kettle.Sas, nice try, but this asshat didn't even bother to vote.
It's not like this douche ain't using it as a write off anyhow. And no one would know that if Kap weren't still seeking attention. There are literally thousands upon thousands of people that donate or volunteer every day and don't feel the need to call the media and let them know.
So, let me get this correct....
The NFL will accept and forgive players who had domestic violence issues.
The NFL will accept and forgive players who have had multiple DUIs.
The NFL will accept and forgive players who have murdered.
The NFL will accept and forgive players who have killed other in traffic accidents while being drunk.
The NFL will accept and forgive a player who bred and faught dogs.
But the NFL is blackballing a player because he kneeled for the anthem?
Did the NFL blackball the player because he was a Christian too?
Agree. Exactly my point. So all this mumbo jumbo about kneeling for the anthem is just smoke. Same goes for no one wanting to sign Tebow because of a media circus. If you have enough talent to help a team the NFL will take you back. The NFL is a business first, and the business is winning. Fans will forgive almost anything including being involved with murder (see Ray Lewis). You don't get blackballed because of your actions, unless your talent isn't worth the price (see Ray Rice). If Kaepernick was just an average NFL quarterback he would be on a roster right now for a quarterback needy team (see 49ers, Browns, Texans, Broncos, Bears, Jets, etc....).
You're rounding into form nicely. He as an individual citizen has the right to protest on his own time. The fact that the NFL subjected it's customers to his protest by allowing him to bring politics to work shows a complete lack of courage. You have the right to free speech, but you do not have the right to be employed. The NFL should have taken a stand and told him he was not allowed to be a political activist while at work.
No owner in their right mind would pay him to disrupt their workplace and potentially drive away customers. It has nothing to do with which side of the political spectrum he is on or if he is wrong or right. Many expect entertainment to be an escape from the real world. It's not entertaining to have a band or player shove their personal politics down your throat.
Kap was being selfish. He was placing his own personal need to express his opinion above the needs of his teammates, employers, advertisers, sponsors and the fans of the team. He is not a hero. He is simply self absorbed. His actions did little more than bring attention to himself.
Kap chose not to be employed by the NFL.
