Not Charlie Strong...I think in three years we'll see that the Texas experiment turned bad.

I'd love Spurrier, but won't happen.

How about Dan Quinn?

I hope we don't go after another defensive guy. I know it's not going to be a guy from a major program or nfl head coach. I think we learned that with Texas.

At this point if Foley announced that a burned out power steering pump off of an 83 Toyota Corolla was going to be the new head coach I'd view it as an upgrade.

Meyer was a no-brainer...like someone said...like picking Shaq first overall or Andrew Luck 1st overall. It would have been almost impossible to screw it up. Just out bid Notre Dame. Sumlin isn't leaving. A&M is flush with cash and they won't give him up. He's a mid-west guy anyhow.

Well, I managed to screw up that last thread too, so here it is again.

1) Has to have head coaching experience
2) Offensive minded (NO DC's)

Discuss.

Something I said?.....there was a lot of good stuff in the older thread.

That said, I'd still like to see the Shanahan and son combo. Have you seen how well Kyle has the Browns playing with a journeyman QB, no quality WR's and rookie RB's? Dad could be HC for a couple years and then promote Kyle.

First off, we're not luring another coach at a big time BCS program (Stoops, Sumlin, Strong, Malzahn, etc). However, if Foley hires another assistant I think he should be lynched!

There are a lot of candidates out there, up-and-comers. The obvious candidate is McNeil. But how many other schools will come after him?

There are a few out there under the radar and several on the radar.

One of the under the radar guys I like is Old Dominion head coach Bobby Wilder:

The guy started the program from scratch and hasn't had a losing season. He's only 50 years old and has a great track record (and is also an offensive guy).

Not sure who the next coach could be but I wouldn't put it past our players that they may tank the rest of the year if we lose a few more games and we look horrible as usual along the way. Muschamp just isn't the guy and I doubt we win 5 games this year. The Tenn game will be a HUGE tell tale sign of things to come.

thank you, about time someone with common sense about luring another coach away from a bit time program...

As for that guy? Eh, I'd pass, ODU isn't a good measuring stick for big time football...

Im certain UM will go after one or both of the Harbaughs. I believe they did last time when they settled for Hoke. But I'm not sure either Harbaugh will listen.

1) The ghost of Pop Warner.
2) The floating bag from American Beauty.
3) Two girls and a cup.

Any one of these would be an improvement.
