I think next year will hinge on the Michigan game. If we get curb stomped by Hardballs and Co. then all bets are off.

I foresee a beatdown to start the season that would make saban blush. These two teams are at polar ends of the spectrum at this point.

A lot of you guys are high up on a Michigan that have 18 seniors....

I think it will be a close game due to that factor alone. Sure Harball can recruit but you can't expect their freshman/sophomore to make such a leap that they will blow us out

Lmao at those who actually are taking Michigan for real when they play no one except Ohio state every year, who curb stomped them last year and most likely will again this year

I don't know why its such a given that our offense is gonna be good next year. I don't care how many starters come back. It'll be the same story if we don't have a qb that can move the chains. Our defense will be gutted this offseason . Even though we have most of our tough games at home, our schedule is gonna be brutal. 8 wins is fantasy land at this point .

Did Tre Massey get hurt on his first return attempt ? -- a season-ending injury.
Not one to rely on ?

Year 3 has been the worst year of each of our last 4 coaches, including Spurrier and Meyer(not counting his sleepwalk 2010 year). There's usually a gap in talent, the initial transition class--which are typically pretty weak--are reaching the point of being heavily relied on, attrition and transfers start to really pose a problem, etc.

I'm ok with being a bit down on Mac. But the idea of him struggling in year 3 wouldn't be unique.
If Kestahn Moore didn't have butterfingers we're playing for (and possibly winning) the NC in 2007, whether we deserved to or not. It was an insane season in which a 2-loss team went all the way. Moore single-handedly lost us the LSU and UGA games, and I'm still pissed at him about it.

What makes anybody think our offense is going to be great next year?

I just hope it's adequate. Defense is going to be a nightmare.

Yeah. Anybody comparing the talent between the 2007 team and the 2017 team is smoking crack

So with the recruiting btching that is going on, and the complaining that at 5-1 so far in this season Mac has to do a hell of a lot better next season, I figured....what are we looking at?

We lose on OFFENSE
Appleby, Fulwood, Thompson

We lose on DEFENSE
Maye, Tabor, Wilson, Cox, Ivie, Davis, McMillan.
Like you said, Brantley is likely. But Anzalone is good as gone too.
