More so then Ray Lewis? The public backlash will be bad, but as with other players they have had it will go away if he produces.

They could, but the difference is that Rice will be available to play after this weekend. Hernandez was arrested and in a holding cell when he was released from the Patriots, and wasn't going to help the team for a while. Hell Ray McDonald started for the 49ers yesterday.

Great move by the Ravens: they look "good" in the public eye and off-load a huge contract of a player way past his prime. The NFLPA better stay far away from this one.

Hasn't it been common knowledge from the very beginning that he knocked her out? How did they think that happened, a gentle thump to the forehead? Does everyone not know how people are forcibly knocked unconscious? The Ravens don't know, the NFL doesn't know, all the NFL players now coming out condemning Ray Rice don't know? It took a video to finally get this guy canned? You can knock a woman out, admittedly, but unless there's a video showing the actual blow, you're ok to play?
