I tend to see where many of you all are coming from on the age factor. Will the HC be engaged, does he have it left in the tank, etc. Who knows for sure but the Man himself, whoever he may be. To me "IF" a guy like Patterson is our choice as long as he has the fire, I'm good with it. Hopefully age won't be a factor on what coach we get. If he's the right fit and can get it done, we need that. We've got a supposed up and coming HC right now and we all know how that is working. Wether its Patterson or someone else, who knows. But I just want to make sure we get the right guy. No matter how old, young, just a successful one.

Calm down guys, I have it on good authority that Stoopsy is coming back.
By good authority you mean your a$$? I'm assuming that is where you pulled this from.

Well Bernardo, sounds like you should step up and tell us who our next coach is

If we are going to snatch a guy that is already well paid and coaching in a major conference I would guess that freeze would be most likely or maybe Gundy.

Freeze better not come near here. Gundy I would not hate but isn't he an OSU grad?

Then let's hire his offensive coordinator because he's obviously riding his jock right now

Like Capt Sas said, usually the staff comes with the new coach. But even if not, atleast he has shown he knows how to hire competent assistants.

So we want a guy that can't recruit?

We hired Utah's coach who couldn't recruit either and worked out pretty well for us. Meyer's Utah's classes were ranked #90 and #78. Even if he had been there longer they probably wouldn't have been much better.

So in other words, chill out, its TCU.

Why? He's never had a losing season in his career over there. That's one thing even Patterson can't even say.

Right, our fans would love his every other year 8 win tendency.

Wrong. In 2005 he went 4-7 and 1-7 in the very weak Big12.

If 55 is too old then I'm at the end of my line. Seriously, though coaches are only looked at as 3 or 4 year investments at a big time CFB school anymore. Let's face it if a coach at a big school like UF doesn't have the team in the top 10-15 within 2 or 3 years he's more than likely toast anyway. Hell the Nollies were saying just in 2012, Jimbo's 3rd year, that he would never be the coach to take them all the way back. Oh, and despite Kevin Sumlin's success since TAMU joined the SEC we been hearing how he's not the one for the last 3 weeks.Bottom line is I don't care if a guy is 25 or 65. He has to be winning his ass off within 2 years...CFB today folks.

How about double the pay? Money does make a difference.

Honestly, if we don't have a shot at Gary Patterson then we are in deep #$%^ with hiring a new coach.
