does that mean lsu wasnt practicing as much on offense the last few weeks?
this whole theory doesn't make much sense to me. generally the offense and the defense practice at the same time, mostly going against scout teamers, only rarely, usually in spring ball, going ones on ones or twos on twos.
I'm going to assume that LSU still has a very large contingent of quality control people. I'm expect that they are designated offense or defense, and not shared. I could see that being an issue at Florida or a CUSA team that only has one or two quality control assistants, but surely they have dozens like every other SEC team.
Special teams practice actually require starters from both offense and defense and is the one thing that can't be practiced at the same time as offense and defense. Most teams do like 80% offense and defense and 20% special teams, something like that.
Head coach time is not fungible but Ed Ogre is not Nick saban. Saban sat in on the coordinator meetings and finalized every single bit of the game plan and play calling decisions. I seriously doubt Ogre does that for either offense or defense.
Unless they were using their ones and twos on defense as the scout team for offense for some reason, none of this makes sense to me.
