Play calling on Mullen is a head scratcher. Seems like we can do whatever we want when Trask is allowed to Trask and get in a rhythm. I get "trying" to establish a run game. If it worked then it would make sense. When it doesn't it looks horrible. I get the feeling that Mullen wants to use all the play book so he wanders away from what is working. I'm okay with that in these games that we're gonna win no matter what. But I'd rather see Trask light it up and secure a Heisman. And we are going to have to throw it 80% versus bama and hope Delance learns how to play in the next two weeks.
You're think because we only threw the ball 49 times and tried to run it 17 times that Trask couldn't get in a rhythm? He had over 400 yards and 4 TDs.

Frustrating game to watch.

OL didn't have a great game. Im not an expert about watching what they are supposed to be doing but I do know our run game sucked. THere were no holes all night. Some ill-timed dropped passes, a bs interference call and a couple missed throws added to the frustration. With that said, at not time did this game feel even remotely contested.

Defense played okay. Thought the roughing the passer calls were gifts to UTooth. Had a bunch of plays were the DL looked like they had no idea what they were doing and had the typical lost CB on third down but overall not the worst game. Am I the only one that feels like if the other team gets that first first down of a drive its best to just leave the room because you know they are going to go down the field at that point?

Only one moment where I screamed at the play call. 3rd and 3 and you run Trask. I wouldn't be surprised if up to that point not one of our running backs had a run longer than 3 yards. Then on 4th and 1 throw it. Probably should have just thrown it for 2 plays instead of running it.

He threw a few that were off as I recall.

There were more drops then there were bad passes by Trask, and most of the drops contributed to stalled drives. He did not play a perfect game, but as bad as the run game was, that game is a lot closer without him.

And stop using Aaron Murray's grade. Any winning QB with a 71% completion percentage with 433 passing yards, 4 TDs, and 0 INTs with no help from the run game gets an A+.

And another thing, CDM needs to get that Fugly jacket off. Even Chump wore a sweatshirt when it got cold.
CDM is obviously not particularly concerned with sartorial matters - or scoring point or looking like a well-oiled offensive machine after 9 games. The goofy outfit is easy to forgive. Trying repeatedly to do something that you're just not good at (power running game) while neglecting something you are really, really good at (passing game) is both less forgivable and much less amusing.

The numbers don't lie....... we have a great passing game and no running game, all coupled with a dysfunctional defensive mentality. (Coach)

Still my Gators but not satisfying to watch and I dread playing BAMA......... Saban must giggle while watching tapes of our defense and running game.

Totally agree, but what really worries me is this cold start, low energy BS that seems to have become the norm these last three games. I understand trying to improve in an area of weakness, but dicking around with plays that don't work has the effect of taking the air out of the offense as a whole. And there is no guarantee that you can just flip a switch and shift back into overdrive after 3 or 4 straight weeks of jerkin your gherkin. WTF?

Are you saying they stressed the flats defender? ...or they're running a zone that doesn't cover that part of the field?

I didn't see if we ran a delayed blitz on that one. Did you?

Nearly everyone on that play manned up. Not Houston, who just seemed lost and most likely had the RB based on what everyone else did. It did not seem he was delayed blitzing. Another possibility is Houston and Stewart had the back in some type of combo coverage as the both went with the slot/slant.
