That's my guess (he won't leave on his own due to the money). But he could negotiate a lesser buyout to "leave on his own" rather than get fired (his ego may not be able to handle getting fired!). Who knows? Jimmy Sexton AND Dan Mullen hold all the cards right now. Stricklin is about as lame duck as Mullen is due to the wbb situation, so I'm not sure he'd make a move right now.
I dont think they really have any power this go around except the power of our AD and UAA suck ballz. And Sexton is the agent for just about anyone. We really will only have to spend 4 million and some change to tell him to hit the road since we pay him just shy of 8 million a year anyways. Its way too easy to just say have a good one and not even worry about looking for some just cause.
The longer Stricklin is awol and not speaking public support for his coach the more I think they are just letting the season finish up, maybe wait and see if Dan slips up in a press conference, then just tell all to hit the road. Our AD and UAA suck so much ballz they probably are taking the gentleman approach and letting them part mutually and find jobs post season while let the dark clouds of uncertainty continue to grow over the program vs canning them now or taking a cue from how LSU handled it all.
Who the fuch knows whats going on because our coach and AD have turtled up.
