Any reason given? Just too many elite DBs coming soon? Hope backing out of a commitment on our side doesn’t discourage other recruits.

No clue. Comments made by a couple 'insiders' on TOS. Says he will most likely be decommiting and flipping to somewhere else very soon and its been known it would happen for a while. Given how our DB class is looking, Im guessing its obvious to Gates and it sounded like the staff isn't trying hard to keep him? Again, Im really not sure.

Guessing if he's a CB then he's being let go. He committed to the last staff, so no obligation to keep him.

The background to this is that Treyaun Webb made the original tweet. Then, it seemed to go around on social media. Webb loved it. It is stupid to me. But, I'm an old fart.

I know we get impatient about not already having some commits, and that feels like pressure. Thing is, time is running out for the recruits too, and that adds pressure to them. I like that attitude better. We should always be like....hey kid, you're the one that's gonna miss out if you fart around and don't commit to us. Be nice for it to be that way all the time instead of having to scramble for dregs like a previous staff.

The first signing day is 8 months away, so there is plenty of time for these kids to decide, and it's a big decision for them. Even Tebow didn't fully make up his mind until signing day. Sure it would be wonderful if all the best players would just commit to us 8 or 9 months in advance, but that's not realistic.

That said, I have a feeling that we'll get several commits around or during Florida's spring game. Our spring game will be the only one in the country that day and will be nationally televised on the SEC network. I think Napier is going to use the game like a big event to generate as much positive momentum as he can for recruiting.

That’s the way the HBC did it back in the day.

Perhaps Nap can make UF so desirable that we'll get to the day when top recruits hurry worry to sign with us early. What he is now doing looks that way.
Think of the fun involved for everyone involved, all sides. Recruits, their parents, Gator coaches, high school coaches, fans, etc. Who knows what's starting here.?

I dont think I would say it to his face. Pretty sure I could out run him, but still

We offered him on his visit as well.

“They just put on such a great visit. They absolutely elevated themselves to being in the running. It’s the Florida Gators. It’s a storied program and I can’t go wrong if I go here. I’m excited."

We’ve all seen you run. This guy catches you within the block and breaks you in half. I had to turn my phone sideways just to see his neck.
