Recruiting 2023 Recruiting Thread: 4* OT Caden Jones completes the class

I was what we called a "pulling guard" I was mostly on the left but sometimes on the right. And technically...I ran both.
Sometimes I'd hit the hole were the DL came through and pick up the ILB...and the FB would pick up the DT who thought he had a clear shot.

We ran a run heavy power game with 2-3 RB/FB and a lot of 2TE. Much different from the Air Raids, Spreads or RPOs.
Passes were mostly drop back deep, over the middle, or flat passes...some screens. Blocking was either pass with a strong pocket, sweeps and reverses...pulling, or power run on the gap or man. NOTHING like today. And if you had speed...a lot of "end runs" or reverses.

Defenses were mostly 5-3 or 4-4 stacks...The IOL was God's position or the DE crashing.

Oh, and how we tackled and blocked...mostly would get you flagged today or kicked-off. QBs were targeted and WRs were mauled until that ball was in the air. Hitting a receiver heading out of bounds, crack-back blocks, sandwiching, picks, taking the knees out...all legal.

One the other side OL could not grab a DL...ever. Open palms inside the shoulders or you got flagged. AND once set...absolutely no moving...none of this looking up, pointing, swaying...you stayed set.

I just want it known that I was one helluva RB in the Pee Wee league. Was supposed to run through holes A, B or C but I generally just winged it.

im surprised theres that much gap between bama and georgia. seems like theyve been neck and neck and even georgia having the edge lately. seems a little off IMO, but us compared to them is right about what I'd expect. Our crootin has sucked a fat wiener for years.

I heard on a pod cast from Jax...they think UF has quite a few still on the list and expect a very good share.
They said UF won't get Bama, OSU, or UGA but should be Top 10 or higher.
Again the talk was Napier has made huge slides with the HS image.
But I'm a pumper and may be hearing what I want to hear.

At the moment I don’t see us pulling in anyone that we aren’t currently leading for. Here’s the guys we still command the most interest from:

5 star cb McClain - we CANNOT whiff here and lose our only realistic five star prospect to bammer or scUM

4 star dl LeBlanc - one of the Osceola trio

4 star wr Mizzell - he looks to be ours

4 star dl James - from Orlando. Can’t let the dawgs take him from our backyard

4 star dl Norman - IMG kid. Lots of schools chasing

4 star wr Sorey - another receiver that seems to be ours if we are gonna take em all

4 star safety McCall - we seem solidly in the lead for this Winter Garden player.

4 star cb Jackson - another of the three from Osceola. We lead over toothless

4 star wr Jean - we still seem to lead but scUM, bammer, tamu, and UGA are on him too so he could be looking at lots of money.

3 star safety Thornton - another that’s ours if he’s a take

3 star qb Pritchard - new name on our board but looks like solid lean to us. No national ranking on 247. Lake Worth, FL. 6’ 2” 195. 92nd at position and 213th in state on 247.

OL and LB situation remains abysmal. Flips and cast offs and portal look like the immediate future here. Those positions aren’t recruiting well. At all. Something has got to give.

DL haul could be one of the best in a while if we get who we want.

We need to gain total dominance of the Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville areas if we’re going to set this straight.

These 11 put us at 23 if we get them all.

10th seems our ceiling in the rankings right now.

No excuses if this is a Mullen level class. Giving homie until December, if he pulls off a great one he deserves credit, if he doesn't, we have to be honest. So many people on the Twitter machine looking the other way from admitting that as of this moment this O-Line class is a Hev special.
