I was very impressed by what I saw from the running backs tonight. Obviously, ball security will be a point of emphasis this week in practice, but I think Johnson and Etienne both made up for it with stellar play throughout the game. If the O-line can continue playing like this in SEC play, we will be a formidable team offensively. Thoughts?

They better start protecting the ball or it'll cost us a game at some point. I like how they run. Would've loved to see Lingard get some carries but I guess he's in the doghouse for some reason. Hope he gets his things in order. I think he could be explosive.

It's definitely the strength of our team: averaging 7 yards a carry against a stout Utah defense is pretty impressive.

Wright, Johnson, and Etienne are a 3-headed monster at RB and will each contribute this year.

Johnson and Etienne looked really good. Excited about Etienne catching passes out of the backfield.

Wright just doesn't impress me. He's always seemed off a beat, not quite as tough as the other guys.

Johnson and ETN looked like they'd been around a while. I'd like to see those guys take the lead going forward. Hopefully Lingard can figure some things out too.

I think Wright needs to be a pass catcher mainly. Have him in on 3rd downs only. ETN and Johnson are clearly better IMO.

Wonder if Wright could be moved to the slot due to his shiftiness tbh

The freshman needs the ball more, was starting to give me some Toney vibes, and maybe even some Percy ones as well.

Wright averaged nearly 4 yards a carry with no fumbles and reliably moved the ball for us. I agree Johnson and Etienne looked better overall, but not going to complain about what Wright brought to the table either.

With our defense clearly having kinks to work out, we're going to be relying on a steady rotation of RBs to control the clock and grind yards. I like who we have back there and am eager to see what they do the rest of the way.

This....from a purely running with the ball perspective the other 2 looked better and performed last night....Wright will be a great change of pace back who can motion into 1 on 1 matchups with LBer's out of the backfield. Anyone writing Wright off needs to go back and watch the Bama game from last year before he was hurt.....

Other than that I'm thinking our RB position group may be the best in the country.

Any of our backs and the starting Oline were the strength of our offense last night and it's been a looooong time since we've been able to say that.

I think Wright is great as a passing down back - would rather use the others between the tackles.

He seems to have some Malik Davis in him. He goes down too easy.

That….and Wright was the only back who didn’t fn fumble. There’s something to be said for that. I do think ETN is the most dynamic back of the 4 we have and Montrell is the power back, but Nayquan isn’t horrible by any means.
