Yeah they were everywhere. Remember wiping the caked-on, foul smelling ash from these? Good times

Flicking these beer can tabs. And the agony of defeat when they broke before opening the can.

Lord I played some marbles in elementary school. We won so much we had a small garbage can of them. BTW that is bad form. you shot it off your pointer with your thumb.

Just one flip too far in setting the time and you had to go all the way around - am and pm.

My grandmother owned a house in the student ghetto behind Krispy Kreme in Gville. The students across the street had a nice cedar tree. They made long strings of those pop tops to simulate garland and used Budweiser cans as ornaments on the tree. Back in the 70s.

We would walk up to the Sing Station about a mile from our house. Along the way we would collect the bottles to get the .5 return so we could buy candy and a slushy.
Were they only 5 cents? I thought it was 10 cents for the 16 oz and 20 cents for the quarts?

:dunno:

IMO... coke tastes better out of glass bottles.

I think it depends. Some were .5 and some were .10. I was guessing. That was over 40 years ago.

My mom had us collect aluminum cans a few times and turn them into the recycling center for money. We might have done it twice and realized you didn’t get much for them.

Michigan had 10 cents per can/bottle... I also remember collecting Coke bottles specifically for what plant was stamped on the bottom of the bottle and trying to collect them all.

Memory like an elephant for crap a half a century ago.

Now ask where I parked my car.
^this. I do know I crapped and showered today because both happened (separately, and properly i'll have you know!) less than 60 minutes ago. Don't ask me what I had for breakfast.
