Finally finished watching the series the other night. While I enjoyed it, it did seem like it was all about absolving Urbs of his sins. They clearly had to cut quite a bit out to make it fit into four episodes. They easily could have made a six part series. I really enjoyed the interviews with Brandon Siler, Ahmad Black, and Major Wright. Those are entertaining guys in addition to being great football players.

Matt Hayes of SDS did not have as generous a take:

Yeah? Well Matt Hayes can go f himself!

Before you boomers ask what a stitch is, just watch the video

Uh...maybe you didnt get that ring because you left so fast because you knew the honor board was going to kick your arse out for getting caught cheating for the 3rd time in one semester. Guess that was left out of the documentary as well.

Couldn't agree more about the Chris Leak part and where were the others.

Barely a mention about the 2010 season with Urbs hanging out for a year to continue to grind the program into the ground with a lack of leadership when they really needed it.

I'm still surprised that so few people are aware that THIS is why he "left"... it certainly wasn't because anyone cared about the laptop.

At the time he left, Cam made it sound like it was because of Tebow 'coming back' and not the fact that he was called in front of the honor board for the cheating things. Laptop was done and dealt with at that time.

Yup... my daughter has served on that board for three years now. It's interesting.

I think he and UF tried to keep that a bit quiet. But it was definitely out there to people on campus and aware. I was working there at the time.

I cut it off. I couldn't watch the 2009 season. I could feel something wrong with that year all year and what Meyer said about 2008 "I closed and locked the door, I could hear them celebrating. I was texting recruits." Meyer didn't allow himself to enjoy 2008's championship. Not even with his team. He was killing himself. Sometimes you gotta enjoy the moment.

To me, Meyer (and the rest) comes across as completely human in the show. We tend to think of these people almost like robots but they are just as fallible and just as human as any of us.

Actually there was even a false narrative about that. Many times I've seen it written Cam left after Tebow announced he was coming back for his senior season. Cam actually announced his transfer before the NC game whereas Tebow announced his return after. I doubt Cam Newton can lie straight in bed.

Yeah his reasoning for the discipline problems makes sense even if it's wrong to my eyes.

As potent as the Meyer offense could be, especially with Tebow, it was the weak link in 2008-2009. Bama exposed it in the 2009 SECCG by bringing constant heat on Tebow, forcing bad throws. We didn't make the adjustments.

It was odd that Hernandez barely got mention or Dunlap's drunk incident or the general feeling that many starters didn't leave it all on the field in Atlanta out of concern for their NFL future. Episode 4 was a bummer.

As usual, Meyer dominated until the end. Frankly, I didn't want to hear from him about why he couldn't cope. You expected the most out of your players. What about you?

There were a LOT of people and stories left out of the series. The whole thing was entertaining but it was just told from the viewpoint of half a dozen players and coaches. Not a word from Harvin, any of the receivers, the Pounceys, nothing about Hernandez, etc. Heck even Hetland's struggles with FGs during the 06 season would have made an interesting story as he drilled two long ones in the title game. You could make ten episodes and not tell all the stories or capture all the opinions.

At the very end, a series of graphics was displayed one by one detailing what had become of each central character.

When it came time for Meyer, it went straight to his stint with the Jags as if Ohio State never happened. Burn.

Admit it. You couldn't remember either. You had to rerun the last minute just so you could come back and punk me over it.

LOL, no I just remember because I was watching it and I had deleted everything between UF and the jags from my memory. I was like, Oh yeah, I forgot about Ohio State!

Well, it appears that Urban was much like some posters here. Nothing was good enough. He stressed about win margins, being perfect, the next season after winning it all. Poor bastrdd. He could not be happy. I think time has healed Urban. I hope the same for some here.
I loved the entire thing. Rainey came from shtttt. Timmy had his eyes opened by his team mates. The reunion was good,. Like some I wish they could have interviewed Leak and others. But The ones they did performed. It put us in a great light if you ask me. Pressure was on them so much. Urban belongs on that wall.

My guess is they left Leak out due to the accusations about him banging the high school girl when he was coaching HS football in Orlando.

I really enjoyed the series. As others have mentioned, they left out a lot of stories and a lot of players. They could have done 8 episodes and it would have been just as good, if not better.

I really enjoyed listening to Siler. I didn’t realize (or forgot) he was such a beast.

One of my favorite Siler stories was when Urban called his parents in for a meeting because Brandon had been drinking too much. His parents show up to the meeting after having spent all day drinking, gold teeth galore in their mouths, and his mom said “Myer, listen, my son came here to win a NC and go the the NFL, so if you ain’t here to do that, then you need to get out the way!” After the meeting ended, Myer gives Siler a hug and says “you just keep doing what you’re doing. That’s the craziest set of parents I’ve ever met.”:lol::lol::lol:
