Yes, actually I said that before he was hired.

After watching the game today can you honestly sit here and say UF is more talented? That would be plain silly. Look as I just explained in another thread over the last 15 years as our coaching has gotten worse so has been the evaluation process of players which also explains our lack of success using the portal....part of the reason our recruiting rankings end up higher is simply because we and other schools offer the same kids....we just end up taking a lot more of other top schools "plan B's"...and then do nothing to develop them any further.
In other words you could put UF's current players in the best system and with the best coaching and you're still not winning a NC....At best their probably an 8-4/9-3 type team at best which is still worlds better than we'll end up being with Karl.

Yes, I can say we have more talent than Kentucky. I’ll also say Kentucky is a much tougher team than us (due to coaching & culture) and they do a much better job executing their game plan on both sides of the ball, again due to coaching & culture.

Let me ask you this. If you had to fight either Sun Belt Billy or Mark Stoops in a bare knuckles street fight, who would you choose & why? I think we both know the answer yet you want to pretend that the reasons you’d rather not fight Stoops (his toughness, his drive to win, his competitive fire) are characteristics that don’t translate to his football program & his players. You also want to pretend that all of Billy’s faults that make him an easier target in a fist fight (his lack of fire, lack of aggressiveness, his I don’t give a shyt attitude if I get beat) don’t also translate to his program and his team. Instead, you want to blame lack of talent while giving him & his ragtag group of assistants a free pass.

Oh, and if you think Spurrier, Meyer or Saban would go 8-4 or 9-3 at best with this team, you’re crazy.

In fact, everyone on here is stating the objective fact that we have, on the whole, more talented players than UK. You seem to be the silly one that claims he doesn't believe in Billy's tenure, but wants to continue last year's "lack of talent" excuse for his inability to coach at the level necessary to even compete at the level expected at UF.

The excuse was questionable last year, but this year it is inexcusably wrong.
I've been the first to say Karl cannot coach. Nobody is making any excuses for Karl....the fact is though we do not have this huge advantage in talent that some on here imagine, making our immediate need for a new coach that much more desperate. If we would have waited another year to get rid of Zook it is very unlikely the "glue" of the 2006 team doesn't stay together and the product would have been much more watered down...

Again you're making stuff up to make it look like I'm covering for Karl...just stop with the BS...

What was Spurrier's, Meyer's and Saban;s first year records again.....??????And I guarantee you you they had MUCH more talented teams to work with than this team.

Using your logic, how would you know that, though? If he doesn’t have the talent as you claim, then how do you conclude his coaching is the problem instead of the lack of good players on the team? Which one is it?

So just a bad day for the defense or was it fools gold all along? I figured the top 10 ranking was a bit misleading, but they did seem to be a very improved tackling team, and were playing the run much better. I know the guys from the Gator Nation podcast have been very bullish on our defense. Can't wait to hear their take this week.

Are you Stevie Wonder?
Look at his game management going back to the 2nd game of the season last year!!! Use of timeouts? Play calling!!!! Team preparedness ring a bell??? 2 and 3 quarter "flat spots" during EVERY single game he's been here,,,,we have not played a complete game since he has coached here. Personnel? Should I go on?

The defense is going to get lit up by LSU/UGA/FSU in the secondary BIG time....still they are probably the least of our problems ....were going to get clubbed like a baby seal at least 4-5 more times this season worse than today....

I hope I’m wrong, but this has the earmarks of a game that is followed by a lot of bad news the week after.
Agreed. There will be players that speak out and question the offensive philosophy and play calling that will be either dropped in rotation or let go for "academic" reasons.

That’s being outcoached, Crete. Has nothing to do with the product itself. You were a chef. If you and I were given the exact same ingredients, but your dish was simply better than mine, would that change the fact that we had the same ingredients? And we’re not saying it’s night and day better like it was in the 90s. But we are more talented top to bottom than they are. What we’ve done with that talent is a separate issue.
Remember Whittamore who started here 2 years ago? Bowman who would be our #3 RB and was a 5 star?.....They are 3rd and 4th string at UCF.....can't even get on the field there.....The talent advantage we used to have is gone to nearly zilch.

I’m not making anything up. You’re coming onto a thread about the Kentucky game saying yeah we lost and I don’t think Billy is a good coach BUT we have less talent than Kentucky. That’s complete BS.

WTF does the first year record of Spurrier, Saban & Meyer have to do with how they would do coaching this team?

The team is like 70% Napier’s guys. And yes Whitemore was never great. Bowman was a bust.

Would you like to run down uga’s roster now? I assure you HS rankings are way more accurate than they are wrong.

You're the one that ask..... :rotfl:
My point is we need to get rid of this guy before he drags down the talent level any further through mis evaluations, running off top offensive talent through poor showings, and stunting development of any players who stay.

Well we've taken what 3 of their "5 star" transfers since 2019? Maybe evaluation has something to do with it? Why wasn't Cox the greatest thing since sliced bread?

No, I can see just fine. I’ve seen all those things. I’m not the guy saying it’s lack of talent that’s an issue.

How do you know the play calling is poor? With your lack of talent logic, how do you know it’s not a good play call that was executed poorly by inferior players?

Ditto for the “flat spots”. How do you know it’s not caused by the lack of talented players you claim we have?

Team preparedness. Again, if the talent is lacking how do you know the problem isn’t players who just don’t get it & don’t give a shyt rather than the coach?

Again, if you think we don’t have talent to beat a team like Kentucky, then logic says it’s premature for you to blame the 2nd year coaching staff until he has enough time to upgrade the talent.

My position is, repeating myself for the umpteenth time, we have more than enough talent to beat KY, SC, Missouri, Ole Miss, TAM, etc. and more than enough talent to run scrubs like Vandy, USF, Charlotte, UMass, UCF, etc. out of the stadium but we don’t BECAUSE OUR COACHING STAFF(S) SUCK FCVKING BALLS! AND THAT IT WAS OBVIOUS FROM THE DAY SUN BELT BILLY WAS HIRED THAT IT WAS A PISS POOR DECISION!!

No dipshyt, I said Spurrier, Meyer or Saban would win with THIS TEAM. I said nothing about their first year record as HCs 30 fcvking years ago. You’re dumber than a box of rocks.
