Yes, actually I said that before he was hired.
After watching the game today can you honestly sit here and say UF is more talented? That would be plain silly. Look as I just explained in another thread over the last 15 years as our coaching has gotten worse so has been the evaluation process of players which also explains our lack of success using the portal....part of the reason our recruiting rankings end up higher is simply because we and other schools offer the same kids....we just end up taking a lot more of other top schools "plan B's"...and then do nothing to develop them any further.
In other words you could put UF's current players in the best system and with the best coaching and you're still not winning a NC....At best their probably an 8-4/9-3 type team at best which is still worlds better than we'll end up being with Karl.
Yes, I can say we have more talent than Kentucky. I’ll also say Kentucky is a much tougher team than us (due to coaching & culture) and they do a much better job executing their game plan on both sides of the ball, again due to coaching & culture.
Let me ask you this. If you had to fight either Sun Belt Billy or Mark Stoops in a bare knuckles street fight, who would you choose & why? I think we both know the answer yet you want to pretend that the reasons you’d rather not fight Stoops (his toughness, his drive to win, his competitive fire) are characteristics that don’t translate to his football program & his players. You also want to pretend that all of Billy’s faults that make him an easier target in a fist fight (his lack of fire, lack of aggressiveness, his I don’t give a shyt attitude if I get beat) don’t also translate to his program and his team. Instead, you want to blame lack of talent while giving him & his ragtag group of assistants a free pass.
Oh, and if you think Spurrier, Meyer or Saban would go 8-4 or 9-3 at best with this team, you’re crazy.
