Just throw $10 million at Lanning and call it a day. This is so easy to fix.
Why would he leave the Big 10? Same with Washington's coach? They'll both get extensions in a few weeks.

Oh no, we can't do that. It might look bad not giving a coach 3 whole losing seasons before making a judgement call. Nobody would ever come here, we don't have any talent. Lanning can't be had bc he already has a job, it's not possible to hire a coach away from another good school. We have to finish the facilities before any chance that a team can win a game. It really takes 5 years to build a program you know. Gator fans are the worst fans.

Because he makes 6 million a year. And he would own Florida. Imagine him with Florida athletes all over the place instead of just a couple of them at Oregon.

There’s so much truth to this

Even if we were to can Napier, we’re not willing to go out and try to land a big fish. We’ll once again try to find an up and comer from a sunbelt level school.

Remember that time we were up 12-0 and we ran the kickoff back to the Clown’s 40 only to follow it up with a reverse flea flicker that looked like this with an OL that can’t block? Good times

I just think it sucks that it's going to be a long, joyless offseason with nothing to get excited about heading into next season. No optimism, more apathy. It's a death blow for boards like this, which can only take so much.
It's just like when we kept Muschamp after 4-8. That was horrible. I knew 2014 would be a waste and would end up with Muschamp being fired.

With the TV revenue coming to the big 10, I'm guessing the incentives in their extensions are going to out them way over 6.

But you gotta out out feelers.

Willie was fired after 1.5 years? They did it and are better off.

In my life (42 years) the noles have had one awful football coach , Willie, and they canned him in 1.5 years. We had what 4 or 5 in that same span? What’s even more damning is that we kept several of these dead weight coaches around an extra year, when we knew what the outcome was going to ultimately be. We just care less about football than most other schools, especially our rivals.

It's enticing to consider a replacement to Napier until you think about who would be heading the task. That makes it sticky. My guess is Sasse is not ready to tackle that subject just yet.

I know none of y’all want to hear it but what was the team’s ranking as we played them, how many were top 25? I think Utah, Mizzou, Kentucky, definitely Ga and LSU were all ranked even Tenn was I think, does Vegas’s prediction of 5 wins not count for anything ?
Unfortunately, that line was likely set after seeing our coaching last season and the lack of filling needs in the portal last off season.

I suspect that a Billy Taggert lead team in 2024 will have an O/U of 2.5 games.

As much as I appreciate Foley’s past contributions, he has to go as well. Time to go!
May I inquire as to what these past contributions were, other than to get us to the place the program is now? I am looking at my list. Zook. Musscrat. Butters. Mike White. A downright refusal to upgrade any facility regarding football during his entire tenure. His complete disdain for trying to raise donor money when the football team was playing for trophies and often bring them home? And by the way, the basketball team happen to be winning at the same time, just to give us something to watch in the offseason. Billy? Check. He got that one. Oh I will will give him Sully and some other non revenue olympic sports that no one cares about. Everything else Fooley did during his tenure completely polluted the program, the building and the entire campus! Keeping the wheels of the train that pays the entire freight well greased will also keep those other programs moving along. Prioritizing those non revenue sports gets you.......................well where we are now.:flush:
