I don't think he can go play div 2 next year as the suspension would be effective there too correct? He could transfer but sit out a whole year making it a 1.5 year suspension. Or he could suck it up, bang some cheerleaders, eat a bunch of whoopers and compete for the Gators job that he had won once before. I see no reason for him to transfer. His options aren't any better anywhere else. And this kid is special - Mac will support him through it. We will be competitive again for the SEC as long as most of our key junior defensive players don't bolt for the pros.

If Trask came out of nowhere to start next year, this whole board would **** itself.

I respectfully disagree.

I think Mac may keep him around, and make him EARN back his starting position, as an OBJECT lesson to every other player on the team.

Think about it.

A year and a recruiting cycle is a long time. The question is will he be influenced by Mac or his Dad who has demonstrated some ridiculous judgement (see free willy bikini wearing picture).

Damn...........................Wonder if there are any JuCo QB's or possible quality transfers? As others have pointed out we won't have the same caliber of defense to keep us around when we play better teams. The offense will need to set the tone next year imo. I like Harris but just don't ever see him lighting up the scoreboard....hope I'm wrong. Does this in any way effect our WR recruiting?

Kyle Trask, this team is yours now. Take us to the Ship next year.

Yes, its true. Some HS backup QB we stole from South Houston Tech School of Welding and Cosmetology is definitely the future.

We need to recruit and build a little pipe-line at the QB position, might be '17 before a sigh of relief is upon us.

I hoped and was even thinking it was possible because of all the optimism from the media and fans, that was my first error. What gets me is the freaking LSU game, we lost Grier for that game this year but they decided to move that game up a week next year so Grier won't be eligible for that game next year either. That's 3 straight years of not having our starting QB against them. I don't even know if Grier would even start that game if he could but it's just the point lol! Only 2 of the first 6 games are going to be tests, @UT and vs LSU.

It's a bitter pill. He's essentially gone two seasons. I hope he stays and I think he will, but the team has to prepare to move on without him. We all walk a fine line.

He won't play any games next year unless the starter gets injured. Mac isn't going to yank a starter who's been bleeding orange and blue (if he's winning) for somebody who made a horrible decision (as the team leader) that affected his team for the better part of 2 seasons.
