Yup. A 4 hour race.... and she literally ran out of gas in the last 15 seconds. She had a 10 second lead with 1 minute to go.

Based upon history of Arab-Israeli conflicts, the Saudi probably called for back-up but was turned down.

Water polo is intense stuff. I couldn't imagine having to tread water nonstop with some other giant dude hanging all over my back. I'd rather just sit in the shallow end and drink a beer.

Oh, she was holding pace. The chase group ran her down, however. That was a classic case of three working together to overtake a solo rider, Taking turns at drafting makes a huuuugggge difference. Compound that with the American being a good climber but not good at downhill or sprinting and she did the very, very best she could under the circumstances.

Did you see how many times she looked behind on that huge uphill? That was to see if her teammate, who was a better downhiller and sprinter, was still in the pack. Once she realized she was on her own, she pushed it bravely and damn near pulled it off.

i was flipping out and yelling at her to not brake so much on the downhill until I saw the Dutch girl overrun a corner and land on a curb on her head and spine at 40 mph. What do I know?

I always love watching the Parade of Nations. Just cool seeing the people who have literally come from every corner of the planet to be there.

Yes it's all about peace and love and unity. What a bunch of BS. I am so down on the olympics for many reasons. This isn't our grandparents oylmpics anymore.

Terrible sportmanship and intimidation. I actually felt sorry for the female Russian swimmer last night for being booed and verbally pounded by Lily King. I don't ever recall seeing an athlete booed at the olympics whether she failed a drug test or not. I don't want any part of that. And Phelps the grreatest olympian ever is going after her and others who failed drug tests. First thing he should do is shut up after his 2 drunk driving arrests. Those are worse than anything Yulia Efemova has ever done. We have to face it sports is sullied and has been so for years.

I don't ever recall seeing an athlete booed at the olympics whether she failed a drug test or not. I don't want any part of that. I have a friend of mine from Hungary (ex-Army guy over there) - he filled out his paperwork to come to the U.S. and waited a year just to get the package in the mail to finish the last half of his application. Took another year to get here so about 2 years total.
His wife - she came from Columbia and waited about 3 years through all the paperwork shuffle (they both met over here in the States). They both became full citizens about 3 years or so ago.

They both are really pissed at those immigrants who skirted the system and 'cut in line'.

This is why Lily King wagged her finger at the TV in the back room when the 'doper' won her semi-final heat.
Lily got to Rio the right way.
Phelps did too - agreed, he made a couple of mistakes along the way - but the last time I checked, drunk driving doesn't help you swim faster.

The game reminds me of stuff a Dad with 2-3 kids plays atop his bed first thing in the morning.
Got a great nephew who's good at Rugby. Watching those home videos, I almost blurted to my nephew (his Dad)
which one is Naioki, they all look alike.?? Naioki has a freshman college scholarship in Japan.

Many of Japan's rules have to do with land dedication. When a "speculator" has a plot for sale, the Government
matches him up with a yearning farmer and he is allowed to grow food-crops while the for sale sign is also
planted on the plot. My nephew's house is 800 sq. 2-story = 400 sq ft downstairs and 400 ft upstairs. He had it
drastically remodeled to western type building materials.All with hardly any yard. And they have a large dog…
that they play sports in. (= put that in to satisfy the oxrule that posts should be about sports)
