Franks or Trask may start the bowl game

I was all for playing Trask or Franks earlier in the season, if for no other reason than game experience. But to burn a redshirt at this point would be little more than a meaningless gesture of futility, not to mention throwing a lamb to the lions. Would do nothing for anybody's confidence going forward. Pitifully sad and embarrassingly dumb if true.
Could not possibly disagree more.

Good God. If Franks turns out to be any good, he's just going to leave early for the NFL anyway. Why the hell do we keep worrying about this extra year crap?

We desperately need a spark in the Gator Nation before there are mass suicides. Give us some hope, for the love of God.
If he was that good, he would have found a way to get on the field long before a bowl game.

Same O line, QB won't make a difference

:suspect:

P.S. I'm out of excuses after this one, so please don't respond again

I kinda half expect one of their red shirts will end up getting pulled tomorrow anyway. May as well use him for the bowl game.

Oh BS. You've got a lot more faith in these idiot coaches than I do if you believe that. Most of our backups have turned out to be better than the starters that got hurt.

I went and looked at that thread and even Goldkamp (one of the writers for Gatorbait) chimed in and said that there's talk around the program that this may happen:

(Thomas Goldkamp): There's been some buzz around the program that this may happen.

I don't think bowl games count for this year. I think they fall under the next year's eligibility, no?

Fellas, these redshirt years count towards NFL eligibility. If Franks turns out to be good, we've got him two more years and that's IT, whether his redshirt is pulled or not. Forget the damn redshirt crap and play them!

It might also make it harder to land stidham if one of the freshman play.

Or ... maybe ... the Pope will annul Grier's transfer, and both of them (Will Grier and the Pope) will show for practice on Monday Dec 5, eligible, eager, and ready to go.

If the probability threshold is "anything greater than 0.000000000000000000000," many things are *POSSIBLE*.

Just another sign that our coaches think the bowl game is a glorified practice.

First I've ever heard of that. If true then sure, but I don't think that's the rule.
If it is then yes, play him.

I did some googling. It looks like there's been a push for that but the rule is that it's still considered the season.

:dunno:

We also wouldn't be recruiting malik zaire if he franks was that good.
That's purely for depth and insurance, of sorts.
It's literally Franks and Trask next year. Allen will and should redshirt. His senior season hasn't been great. LDR goes to the bottom of the pile, if he even stays here.

Do it. Change the channel, do something different. Either show us they can do something or show us why they haven't already been playing.

I don't think the kid's going anywhere that hes not being told he has a good chance to play. Doesn't make much sense to transfer somewhere to ride the pine.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have a chance to even be the starter, I'm saying from UF's perspective we really only have Franks and Trask next year. Depth is still needed.
