Seriously, why call the kid Trash. It’s not his fault Butters recruited him to UF. He has the physical tools if he can put it together upstairs. He is not credit card scamming the bookstore, or toking it up. He represents UF well. I pull for the kid, in the hopes of seeing an epic donk eat crow meltdown if he ever succeeds here. Not saying he will, but he is a good kid and no need to call him Trash.
This! Nice post, Salt. I hope Trask tears it up this season.

So what's the early indication...Franks starts, Emory is backup, Trask injures his pinky holding the clipboard again?

So far the practice reports I’ve seen seem to indicate Emory has a long way to go. Probably Franks then Trask right now

Trask didnt get those rushing numbers running read option stuff. The coach let him pass or hand off mostly when he came in the game. That is why he has standard drop back passer rushing numbers there.

Franks would run around a lot until he had a pretty open receiver or if he had a big gap to run the ball.

Right. Nothing against him, as far as I know he’s doing his best and following through with his responsibilities.

But on a spread option team, in mop up duty, they changed the offense for him because he’s not a runner.

Alex Smith was a drop back passer in HS. He changed to become the spread guy Meyer/Mullen needed. I haven’t yet seen anything in or about Trask to warrant that expectation of him. Anything is possible, and I’d be happy to be wrong, but it just doesn’t look probable.

Didnt his upper body bulk up a lot while he was on the team. I remember people talking about it but it did seem his legs didnt bulk up nearly as much.

I think if Trask is going to play for the gators, he has to do it this year. After this coming season or maybe even this season, EJ will be the guy. I wouldn't pay attention to Miles commenst about EJ being far behind Trask and Franks. He's in his first spring. I'd expect nothing less. When fall gets here, I'm hoping to hear different.

We still have a long way to go till fall camp. If Emory Jones can't beat out franks we're screwed. Or maybe the burrow kid transfers in. I've seen enough of franks to know he doesn't have "it".

I’m still holding out some hope that Franks can improve greatly with a simplified offense and some good coaching. If not, EJ needs to be learning on the job.

I'd be shocked. I've never seen a qb play that bad and turn it around with a new coaching staff.

Hes decently mobile, similar to Tebow (not in talent, vision, speed or anything, just mobility). I think he can wiggle and find a gap and get a couple. Im still worried about Franks. From what i read he still gets sacked quite a bit in practice. Jones did too. Didn really hear that about Trask.

, just mobility).
What the fvkk are you talking about? He is soft, fat and slow. Have you seen him? He has as much roll over his belt as Fat Dog Brindeis did.

Franks is easily faster than Trask.

EJ and JJ are faster still.

Trash averaged 0.1 yards per carry in his two games (aggregated) high school "career". What are you basingnthis crap on? His HS "highlight" reel which was mostly him in a no contact jersey versus his HS scout team?

Its like you are on LSD or something.

The most hilarious thing is that the people making the insane comments now ARE THE SAME ONES WHO SAID BENCH LDR AND PLAY FRANKS LAST YEAR, when anyone with a slight bit of sense could see he wasnt ready (and may never be).

Soft, fat and slow? Now you’re just making things up (again).

I’m not sold on Trask (or any of our QBs) at all, but let’s at least not make up crap to try to support our stance.
