I live in Gainesville. There's a lot of buzz here. Everyone is talking about Gators football.

When I saw this thread I immediately wondered how ticket sales were going.

In 2016 college football attendance was down nationwide yet again. It's the sixth straight year that overall attendance at college football games has dropped. Missouri saw a 20% decrease in attendance. Southern Cal experienced the smallest average attendance since 2002. The decreased crowds were everywhere - Kentucky down 12%, Stanford down 12%, Minnesota down 16%, Maryland down 11%.

That's the definition of disinterest.

Since Mac arrived, Florida has experienced the opposite of the national trend in average attendance. In Mac's 2 seasons at Florida the average attendance at the Swamp has risen 2.3%. The average crowd in 2016 was 99.2% of capacity at the Swamp.

Over 98% of season tickets for 2017 have already been sold. Mac's 2015 Gators played FSU in front of the largest crowd in the history of the Swamp. I'd be willing to bet that record will fall again this season.

I think people tend to see what they are looking for and that which furthers the chosen agenda.
What a douchebag.

This writing style is more Byrdish than I recalled.

I think this best symbolizes the kind of buzz most of us got from watching last year's team.

Let's line up the dumpers excuses for next year:
Beat Meatchicken - "they're not even ranked"
Beat Tennesse - "Worst Tennesse team in years"
Beat Georgia - "Kirby is Muschamp 2.0"
Beat LSU - "Ed Orgeron amirite?"
Beat F$U - "Stop clocked etc."
Lose to eventual NC Bama - "I told you Mac/Nuss sucked"
Win Bowl game - "Bowl games don't count"
Ouch.

You say our coach sucks balls but who do you realistically think we could have gotten besides Mac after Muschamp was shown the door?
Also who do you realistically think we could get if Mac is let go? Please don't give me a pipe dream answer but a coach that is realistic. I think at best we would get a Major Applewhite type coach and for me I would rather stick with what we have.
If you haven't noticed we are absolutely on an upward trajectory.
Dayumn... that is some delusional pumping.

We just finished an eight-year buzzkill enema, applied with a fire hose. Don't expect much in the way of giddy anticipation.

I said ever. I sure as hell didn't mean this year.

Edit to that sentence: I'd like to be 100% wrong on my 90%.
My apologies for missing the ever.

Is ever ever? Or only ever under CM?

If under cousin Eddie we will never be champions.

I’m normally pretty pumped for the season, but looking at our QB situation and the fact that Franks is likely to start is lowering my excitement level. That and the fact recruiting is in the sewer right now.

Praying for a miracle where one of our QBs step up.

I expect to look far better than anyone here thinks, regardless of quarterback. Stronger players and a brand new mentality can work wonders. You have to really let it sink in that these young men for years were led by Butters. Imagine having to listen to that complete buffoon every day in practice and before games. How would you play?

We'll get to 10 wins pretty fast. It's from there I'm not so sure.

CM is light years better than Butters and better than Madman Midline. But this is not really profound.

CM will provide us with a much more complete, balanced and respectable team, but we will not win championships. But how much are we paying him again?

I agree no championships are in sight. But perhaps he can actually get us to a respectable place so the next coach can get us over the hump.

Mullen is forced to completely rebuild this program after the worst coach in history.

Not to sound like I'm pumping, but does anyone really think that ANY hire outside of pulling Saban, Meyer, or Swinney in would guarantee us championships (or even playoffs)? There are no guarantees. ONE corch gets to hold the trophy each year. One. And chances are it'll be one of those three. BUT...we play the games, and sometimes Auburn blocks one and runs it back, etc.

I'm excited to see what we can do this season. There are no "future facts". We watch the games or don't. I'll be watching with Gator gear on and my flag flying.

Now let's get the hell out of this silly off-season. Too much idle time to dream up shyte like firing a guy who hasn't yet had a gameday as our HC.

So long as we beat Kentucky this year, I'll be happy. That's how low my expectations are this year and how little I care about the season. I'll watch, with friends while drinking. UF Football has become an excuse to get everyone together to hang out. It used to be that as fans we were on the journey for a championship and we were pumped every week. Mullins doesn't inspire that. He's raised the floor, but quite possibly lowered the ceiling.

I agree that our W/L record could be pretty good, since we play sh!tty teams, but are you going to enjoy watching a team that barely beats crap and gets wrecked by good teams. Hope I'm wrong. I think we'll be improved, but talk about low bars.

There’s no question the bar has been lowered. Foley is 100% to blame for that.

We need wins to turn around the negative media of losses, poor coaching, players in trouble and all the low rankings by recruiting experts. This darn new fangled internet keeps bringing all this stuff back up!

It’s Friday! Good luck Gators
