Slevin, in a couple days you are going to re-read your responses and see what an asshat you sound like. You're going full Byrdman with you responses.
Nope. I’m not over reacting to a bad loss in a season with no expectations. You’re firing our 3rd coach in 4 years. Concerning? Yeah. But this team has to grow and throwing a fit like a child about the second game with a garbage team is dumb.

Link.

Plenty (probably the vast majority) wouldn't have hired a coach with a losing conference record, but he is here. Everyone I've seen thinks he will get at least 2.5 years.

Who says fire him today?

Than why are you bytching like a little girl? Can’t get an accurate reading 2 games in of what we will look like in 3 years with a different roster. Completely and utterly impossible. So why run around acting like you won something every time we lose?

So no one is the correct answer, but that is the only argument you have come back with....

No one is acting like we won schit, and if they are fck them. We got prison raped by Kentucky. Our coaches were out coached by Kentucky. We LOST. In fact Kentucky might still be running a train on us right now, if the buzzer didn't sound. I've watched a lot of Gator football in my life, probably too much. The mentality that you are displaying was the first issue Spurrier had when he took the job in 89. It's a losers mentality that the team had and the fans had.

Now the fans have it again.

What are you talking about?

I want to win a title every year. We literally have a Purdue or Illinois level roster.

Tyrie catches that pass over the middle we win. They call that fg and we score and Felipe doesn’t check away from the open man we tie the game. There are so many instances in this game where there was a call and a play on the field to get us to win and they didn’t do it. It was a crap game from everyone. But it was the second game. Freaking out over coaching 2 games in is what I have a problem with. I’ve said it 100 times in this thread already. We severely lack talent to compete with just about everyone. And yet here you are shocked when it happens

i saw a tweet earlier this morning that pointed out the absolute atrociousness of our LB room and it got me thinking what some of our other areas are from an overall talent perspective

Here is our linebacker talent:

Abysmal. Embarrassing. Atrocious. Basically non-functioning.

Heres our oline:

Noah Banks: 2 Star. .79
Chris Bleich: 3 Star .88 (not bad. Has years to play.)
Nick Buchanan: 3 Star .82 (borderline 2 Star)
Fred Johnson: 3 Star, .83 (gone after this year thank god)
Martez Ivey: 5 Star, .98 (plays like a 1 Star, gone thank god)
Jean Dealance: 4 Star .94 (3 Years left)
Stone Forsythe: 3 Star .84 (3 Years left)
Richard Gourage: 4 Star .96 (4 Years left)
Kavarris Harkless: 3 Star .84 (gone after this year thank god)
Brett Heggie: 3 Star .86 (3 Years left)
TJ MCCoy: 3 Star, .82 ( one year left. Probsbly never plays again )
Griffin McDowell: 3 Star, .83
TJ Moore: 4 Star. 90 (freshman. 4 Years left. Could be a future starter)
Jawaan Taylor: 3 Star, .84 (was a bright spot. Overall bad play from the oline overshawdoing anything good happening. Also a junior)
James Washington: 2 Star, .77 (has no business being at UF)

What happened to Tyler Jordan?

If we didn't have 7-8 drops, etc... yeah, yeah... every game has a play or two.. Kentucky had 300 yards rushing... that isn't a play or two. They beat our ass in our house. And you said we were more talented than them in this very thread.

The OLD standby of every team with a shyt coach.

I saw it one Null and Vole board last week too.

Here's a clue for you, Nick Saban didnt lose to South Alabama in year 7. That should make you know how stupid you and everyone else is who contantly compare their loser coaches to Nick Saban.

Also, Nick Saban brought in a number one class after that first year. How's Cousin Eddie doing?
The reason the ULM Saban reference always triggers you so much isn't because its irrelevant. It triggers you because its irrefutable.

No matter how good a coach is, it takes time to have an effect. It takes MORE time when talent isn't there. Other than size and strength, this is the reason why upperclassmen usually play more than freshmen. There is no substitute for experience no matter how good the student or the pupil. Hell, even the coaches themselves need time and experience coaching to improve their own game. I don't care how much of a natural gift you have for flying or for the law, it still takes time to become a pilot or a lawyer no matter how good your instructor's are.

Mullen may very well turn out to be a shyt coach but it is WAY too early to make the kind of statements you and others are making. For a fact, all of the Tide Donkeys and Tiger Donkeys and Bucknut Donkeys had and still have the same tantrums every time their teams have a bad game.

It's just hilarious. Every ****ty coach has sicophants who bring this up. Chimplovers did. Butter lovers did. Voles did it. Nulls did it last week too. Every sucky coach has fans who bring it up.

If he is landing a #1 class, yeah, I will think losing to a shyt school is evidence that he might be the next Saban.

He is a ninth year coach with one winning sec season. We know very well what he is.

Turn you on a little bit Bubbles?
Why, are you horny?

Kentucky won 7 games last year and we won 4. And other than the miracle win over them after a total double brain fart on their part, it should have been 8 wins vs 3 respectively. And yet, we classify a game that could have easily gone either way as a prison rape.

OK.

I’m going to play a little bit of devils advocate here. Since it looks like Mullenis getting absolutely crucified here.

We’ve only had two games this year. He’s already done wonders with Franks. He didn’t have a particularly good game plan with throwing the ball 38 times, but that OL is not run blocking for shyt.

Absolutely blasted the defensive performance in his press conference.

He said we are down 4 DBs in numbers. Plus we have four DBs out due to injury. Which actually puts us down eight DBs.

Talent wise, we are really sucking wind at safety. Somebody made a comment that Burney needs to move to Star and Gardner needs to move to safety. I think that would help somewhat.

There is nothing they can do about linebacker. None of these linebackers would have played on any Meyer, Zook, Spurrier, or Muschamp teams. They are not even SEC talent. They are like FIU talent. Out of all of our DBs we probably have four that are any good. Which means we have zero depth. Those are Henderson, Wilson (out for the season), Stewart, and Davis (Out). You could probably add Burney to the mix but he was a athlete more than anything in high school and he is going to take a little bit of refinement until he’s ready. So we need probably around 12 DBs and we probably have about 4. Maybe 5.

This is going to be a long season on defense. But those of us that have been following recruiting have been screaming about Mac recruiting defense for the last three years.

To @Slevin point in the OP - All of our OL talent are first and second-year players. And I think they need to bench those that are not bringing the effort to send a message.
always insightful and level headed.

Abysmal. Embarrassing. Atrocious. Basically non-functioning.

Fred Johnson: 3 Star, .83 (gone after this year thank god)

A lot of the the upper classmen are garbage when it comes to talent with some good talent under neath them. Overall quality of talent on the Oline is not up to snuff.

Safety:

Stiner: 3 Star, .85 (not UF material)
Brad Stewart: 4 Star .94 ( good talent. Listed as dB. Big enough to move to safety if need be)
Nick Oelrich: walkon. No Star.
Brady Walters- 5 foot 9 walkon. No stars. Lol.
Amari Burney: 4 Star .92 (freshman. Young but a good player for the future)
John Huggins: 3 Star, .88 (came in as a DB, probsbly have to use him as a safety. Zero depth here. Played well in opener)
Jawaan Taylor: 3 Star .88 (piss poor safety)
That’s pretty much it

Let’s take a look at the “talented” defensive line

Luke Ancrum: 3 Star, .81 (basically a 2 star rated in the 1,000s overall player in the country. Not UF talent.
Kyree Campbell: 3 Star, .87 (soph)
Antonneous Clayton, 5 star bust
Elijah Conliffe: 4 Star, .89 (soph. Time to develop. But I do like him)
Marlon Dunlap: 3 Star, .83 (junior)
Cece Jefferson: 5 Star, .99(senior, hasn’t played. Best player we have)
Malik Langham: 4 Star, .89 (freshman. Will be good. Bama wanted him bad)
Jachai Polite: 3 Star, .85 (junior)
Adam Shuler: 3 Star .84 (senior)
Tedarell Slaton: 4 Star .96 (sophomore, good depth to have to build around. Good player)
Zuniga: 3 star .86(junior)
Zachary Carter: 4 Star .94 (second year)

Basically. There’s a ton of non Florida talent taking up the upper classmen spots and some good talent behind them as freshman and sophomores. We still have a bad qb room, but the positions after this class should be turning over to a more quality looking board across the spectrum.

Nothing changes the poor play calling, but Florida has got to graduate or transfer some of these kids out.

No depth at safety. Barely serviceable from a talent perspective as is. Linebackers are hot garbage. D line has spotty talent across the board. Oline is hot garbage but has some good talent behind the upper classmen. We all know this but sometimes it’s nice to see the numbers spread out to really take a whiff of the stink that is our entire football roster

UF's last 3 classes 14th, 9th and 18th

UK's last three classes - 28th, 26th and 30th

Help me out here.

Either way?

Kentucky could have hung half a hundred on us if they just quit trying to pass.

They lead in total yards by over 100, they were 9-13 on third down. As a defense we couldn't stop them, and as an offense our OL couldn't stop them.

It really should have been much uglier.

Could have. Sure. Your "could have" is no more accurate than my "could have" which is that one play goes differently and we win the game. In the end they won by a few points which is hardly surprising to me since they were a much better team than us last year, are probably even better this year, and we are still dealing with the same problems. So you can have your opinion that it was a prison rape, and I can read it and say OK.
