Last time I checked teams don't get to pick where they play their bowl game....and UCF is always using their schedule as an excuse for not getting into the playoffs anyway....What would be so wrong with crushing their hopes for "another National Championship".Get back to me when they play a halfway decent schedule.
Oh BS. You PM'd me a pic with the new bead lighting around it.I dont even know where it is. Rolled up in the garage probably.
You're a little slow on the uptake. I'm very happy to play in any bowl as well as to shut up their whiny little mouths. I'm simply pointing out the obvious re the media. Don't take it so personal.Last time I checked teams don't get to pick where they play their bowl game....and UCF is always using their schedule as an excuse for not getting into the playoffs anyway....What would be so wrong with crushing their hopes for "another National Championship".
You're being sensitive...I'm not taking anything personal....I see this as a chance to advance our program in a very likely scenario but I'll wait and see where the chips fall. I just think there is a lot of upside for us, that's all. You're a little slow on the uptake. I'm very happy to play in any bowl as well as to shut up their whiny little mouths. We'll see. They've obviously accomplished a lot in the short span since O'Leary left. The Auburn win was big but I'm not convinced Auburn was up for that game. You're being sensitive...I'm not taking anything personal....I see this as a chance to advance our program in a very likely scenario but I'll wait and see where the chips fall. They play twelve cupcake games vs geographic schools. That isnt catching fire. We'll see. They've obviously accomplished a lot in the short span since O'Leary left. The Auburn win was big but I'm not convinced Auburn was up for that game.
They captured lightning in a bottle twice with Frost and now Heupel, who could very well get an attractive offer and leave. It'll be up to them to keep the forward momentum going. I'm not sure they can. I think what happened is they caught fire while everyone else was temporarily down.
That's my point. They've beaten up on their midling conference and gotten all this praise over it. It deserves praise in the context of what it means. I don't buy them being a top 10 team. They play twelve cupcake games vs geographic schools. That isnt catching fire.
Their big game of the year is Memphis. There are 80 teams that could go 12-0 with that schedule, including Vandy and Duke.
I don't see how beating Michigan helps our cause. We need to own this state. We took a big step yesterday. The next step is to crush UCF and remind them that no sane person chooses UCF over UF when given the option. That's my point. I'd rather face a traditional power in the bowl. Probably Michigan for all the times it's spoiled my New Year's Day.
We've never lost a recruit to UCF.I don't see how beating Michigan helps our cause. We need to own this state. We took a big step yesterday. The next step is to crush UCF and remind them that no sane person chooses UCF over UF when given the option.
I admire your sense of adventure. A convincing win would help put an end to the smack talk. I'd enjoy it as much as you. But what happens if we have an off day or Heupel schemes our defense brilliantly and they push us to the brink or beat us?I don't see how beating Michigan helps our cause. We need to own this state. Not the point I was trying to, apparently, poorly enforce. We've never lost a recruit to UCF.
Understand the concern. Conversely, what happens if Michigan comes to town and bends us over again?I admire your sense of adventure. A convincing win would help put an end to the smack talk. I'd enjoy it as much as you. But what happens if we have an off day or Heupel schemes our defense brilliantly and they push us to the brink or beat us?
UCF has far more to gain by being on the same New Year's Day field than we do.
Bad either way, but hasn't the argument in favor of playing UCF been built principally around state supremacy and recruiting edge?Understand the concern. Conversely, what happens if Michigan comes to town and bends us over again?
A win is a win. No one has been able to dethrone the pseudo National Champs in over two years. That needs to be done by big brother. It's time. Enough is enough.

In front of about 50 in state recruits just like in 2015....no thanks. I think their waterboy had over 200 yards rushing and a average QB looked like he was auditioning for the NFL at the expense of DBU.....plus Harbaugh's gonna be madder than hell that they played their worst game of the year against OSU....I'm not sure we want that.Conversely, what happens if Michigan comes to town and bends us over again?
I've got timing and trajectory in mind. We're 9-3 and better but still prone to inconsistency. On any given day, weird things can happen to inconsistent teams. I'd hate for it be that day. Then we deserve to lose, and we deserve to be seen as second best in the state. I think we're good enough to win with ease. Beating UCF will be seen as us beating a top 10 team, not the reality of our beating an upstart cupcake.
