he left us with less players than any probabtion team.
2010 .. #1 ranked recruiting class and 28 players.
Granted ... 2009 he seemed totally engrossed with winning back to back NCs. The 2011 class was ranked 12th.

I normally agree with Law, but I think he's laying Muschamps inability to recruit balanced and full classes on Meyers last '"zombie" year.
Also, Meyers recruits on O were for his brand of O and did not carry over whatever the F Muschamp wanted.

I'd be fine with Urban being in the ROH after a measurable amount of time passes and memories fade as to the negative image he left behind at Florida (the player arrest record) and at Ohio State (the assistant coach scandal). That and him having an image that many portray as being of low character. Give it maybe 7 to 10 years, when it is clear that he is completely done with coaching, perhaps back in the broadcast booth, and he's restored his image. When he can be portrayed as true ambassador of the game, not as an example of the fine line that coaches walk in order to win. Like it did with Tom Osborne and the way he handled Lawrence Phillips.

Plus, for all we know, there is another scandal that will be revealed from his time at OSU. Things have a way of popping up even 5 years after the fact. I don't want to see the guy being honored at The Swamp with some sort of cloud hovering over his head that again shines a spotlight on the negative aspects of his time at Florida, when it is supposed to be a time of celebration. Give it some time.

We were in the low 70s in number of players. Remember a bunch of those 2012s left without ever dressing a game.

Lane Kiffy was playing w only 75 at USC, while on probabtion.

Dumbass Chimp got it into the 60s at one point, maybe the year we lost to Ga South.

Next year will be the first year since 2009 that we have a chance at being at 85 (not counting walkons given a semester to semester or half scholly).

And how many of those as*holes are in OUR ring of honor? NONE. So why are you even bringing them up? I don't care if other schools sell out and honor scumbags. I care if MY school sells out and honors a scumbag.
I was suggesting Meyer should be included, not Foley.

Well put. I think Meyer would do well to work on PR for awhile. He knows he has fences to mend at UF and I think he will do it if it's important to him.

Rhett is arguably the most underappreciated RB in UF history. I used to love this staple toss play in the Spurrier offense, where the RB would not go wide and cut back.....

He was also a very good pass catching running back. I want to say at the time he left school, he was in the top 5 of passes caught in UF history. Doubt he's there now, but he was up there when he graduated.

This is a well thought and cogent post.

Whoever wrote this has no ****ing clue. I was in the stands for this, and those timeouts forever endeared me to Urbs.
I might forgive him if he strolls onto the field next October and reminds Mullinz to call all the timeouts for a few extra victory formations.

Well, Fooley isn't eligible as he isn't a former player or coach. However, for argument's sake, If I had to choose one I'd choose Urbs over Fooley. Urbs didn't hire Sharkelwain or Chump.

He's a great coach. One of the best. It's pretty hard to ignore Urban Meyer's two national championships at Florida and not honor him for that.

But I never really cottoned to him. In my mind he will always be ---Urban Carpetbagger
