These types of posts really grinds my gears. Football isn't this simple. Just because you hope with all your might doesn't mean you're gonna win. Dan could gameplan every facet of the game and hire every competent GA to scout them, still doesn't mean we'd win.
You're just bloviating. Trying to set some ridiculous expectation. And if we lose you'll say "see, I knew coach would blow it." I hope we beat the brakes off them as well, but that's not a small task. Now, if you'd have said we better beat UK then I'm all for that. We owe them for last season and we should expect to beat them. I'm not sure how you "expect" to beat a team that's superior to us talent wise. They're the hardest game on our schedule, so I assume since you expect us to beat them you also expect us to go undefeated and to the CFP?

Heres a clue: how many times has UF lOST to the ball kickers and gone on to win the SEC or play in the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ?

Doesn't mean we need to give those buttwipes one ounce of respect. I think Mullen is a better coach than Smart.
Anyway, my mantra has been "just beat Uga" since my first semester at UF in 1984. My expectations have not wavered. Beat UGa and good things happen. Lose, and you're out. In the 80s,90s,00s,10s. (UT was there for a few years).
It's a rivalry game.Any given Saturday.

I'm inclined to say every game is important and should be game planned to the nth degree but some coaches obviously recognize which games are "more" important.
Spurrier hated UGAy and foucused on beating them but it was apparent he didn't have the same animosity for halF ASs U. His record bares that out. Butters didn't focus on anything. Mulllen realized how important FSU and the bowl were and had the team reasy. I'm sure he put as much energy into UGAy but we just performed poorly. I hate Florida's Second rate Universirty more but beating UGAy is the key to the SEC and playoff hopes.

We need to dominate in the Swamp, play non-slop football and on to the SEC East. Keep recruiting and always be in contention.

Well put. Spurrier had a losing record vs FSU. But he had a winning record the following week! SECCG is what it's all about! I still think of FSU as UFs little sister school. Meh.
